Hows your season/training going so far? (Read 6 times)

    So I had my first meet of the year last saturday and I raced the 110mHH 300mH HJ and LJ. I set a FroshSoph meet record in the 110 with a time of 15.71 besting the time of 16.18, while it was a pr and a record time I wasnt completely ecstatic about it as I didnt have anyone to pull from as I was leading from the start so I relaxed towards the end instead of ever pushing, and on another note I qualified for the Arcadia Invitational. I ran a time near my pr in the 300 but due to studder stepping it wasnt near what I thought i could hit. I bailed out of HJ at 5'2 to go warmup for the 110 so that was okay, just a practice for me. As for long jump I jumped 18'0 but one jump i scratched by just my toe and I jumped easily into the high 18s.

     

    So how has your guys' seasons and meets been going so far, and what are you looking forward to doing or hitting what times?

      Up here in upstate NY track hasn't started yet Cry, we've got to wait for another couple weeks.  But I'm starting to wind down my base miles in exchange for some rust buster workouts. I have a 3k coming up on march 16th so that should help prep my nerves and get back into the racing groove for this year.  This season I hope to break 10:30 in the 3200 and 4:50 in the mile, and hopefully break 58 in the 400 Joking(yeah I'm a distance guy).

      The 800m Runner


        My first meet is tomorrow. I'm finally in about the same shape I was in before I got a stress fracture, so I'm happy about that. I'm hopping to run around 5 flat in the 1600m and close to my 800m pr.

              Just keep on working on it. If I remember correctly your not on your school team anymore right? Just take your time getting back into it, have fun take breaks,. Just don't wear yourself down.

                The 800m Runner


                  Spilt a 2:12 in the 4x800m, we placed 2nd. The 1600m was right after the 4x800m, and I had no rest, so I cruised it and ran 5:29 (85-90%). In the open 800m later it was dark/cold. I placed very well relative to the speeding (6th), but only ran a 2:16 (I actually beat some people who were sub 2:10, and 2 guys I beat ran sub 2:10 splits on the 4x800m). In the 4x400m I'm sure what I spilt (I think it was 56 or 57) and we got 2nd with a time of 3:43.x

                    Track season started yesterday!!!!!   Did some 400 repeats and I can't believe how much speed I've lost over the winter...  It's shameful.  But it's good to be doing something other than base mileage, so I say bring it on!!

                      So far it is going great I got an 8 second pr with 5:40 which I am very happy about.

                        Pretty well. Our team does no tapering at all except for states so I have not been totally fresh for a race yet. This is my first year running track so now I have official PR's. 5:12 in the 1600 (indoor), 2:29 800 (always after a 1600), and 11:09 3200 (first 2-mile ever).
