an amazing likeness
Samantha owns this week's sole formal entry on the calendar for her 10K in the city of sails -- Auckland, New Zealand.
10K is both a tough distance to run and a great half marathon test distance --- it's too long to just fling out the first mile and hold on like one usually does in a 5K, but it's not so long that you ever want to hit 'cruise' tempo for the middle miles as you do in the longer events. A challenging distance indeed, as it too long for one approach and too short for the other.
Go Samantha, good luck and run strong!
Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.
Good luck, Samantha, have a great race!
MT I agree- even in the half you have to do a very fast cruise for 10 miles or you won't make it to the finish.
PBs since age 60: 5k- 24:36, 10k - 47:17. Half Marathon- 1:42:41.
10 miles (unofficial) 1:16:44.
Good luck Samantha!
That's a very astute description of a 10K race, MT.
Don't make excuses for why you can't get it done.
Focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen.
Well...it's Sunday afternoon in New Zealand...so Samantha's race is run...
