Thanks for joining my group Teresa. As I said in the 1000 mile forum I am training to do cross country for my freshman year. That is why I joined the group so I can say I put in 1000 miles.

Good luck! I started out in the 1000- km club, but found that I'm running enough to make 1000 miles this year. I tell people that if I can do it, anyone can!
Will you be able to get some advice on running intervals and hills? I know my son does a lot of that in XC. You will definitely have a headstart if you work hard this year - good job! You'll have a blast in 9th grade.

thanks teresea I'm not really in to all that hills, intervals, tempo, and stuff. I figure that if I get my miles in I will be fine.

Hey, Logan, how are you doing? I haven't seen any posts from you in a few days. How's the running going? I got in my first 10-mile run last week. I'm running a 5k race on Sunday, so I won't be running as much this week.

I haven't been running much lately I have too much baseball going on and stuff. Today (5/5) I PR'd my mile for school today 7:45. Does the race have a website.

Good job on your mile PR! What position do you play in baseball?
Here is the website for my race:

4 of the 5 of us in my family will be running it. "My" Logan won't be running it since he's in the middle of outdoor track season and already running the mile and two-mile race every week.

Happy Birthday! 14, right? That's a good age. Of course, I've enjoyed every age!
I'll look for Blaine Sunday, but he's usually way up at the front! Maybe I'll see him after the race.
My 10-year-old daughter ran 5.2 miles with me last weekend. Her goal is to beat her dad in the race, and she may actually do it!
Are you doing anything special for your birthday?

Yeah i'll be 14. I have a baseball game at 8:00 am and then I have a physical (stupid hernia test). At about 2:00 pm my aunts, uncles, grandpa, grandmas, cousins and whoever else is coming over and we're barbecuing. Then at about 5:00 my dad, grandpa, me, and whoever else wants to tag along are going to the Sprint Car Races where I can go play some tackle football.

How was the race.
I got a new MP3 player (Phillips GoGear 4 gig) and a Swiss Gear Hydration Backpack. Also about $100.
We lost our baseball game 6-2 but we are still the best team in the league even though we don't have the best record. Another Big game tonight.
The physical we didn't have the Hernia test ethier so that was good.

You got some good presents! I'm going to ask for an iPod for my birthday in July.
The race was fun, but very crowded. The largest 5k in Maine - over 1900 people. When I ran it last year, there were only 1400, and you could realy tell the difference. My time was 30:12, a PR for me. I beat my time from last year by over 8 minutes! I'm still a new runner.
Heading out tomorrow for a long run - hopefully over 10 miles. I'm a little nervous about it.
When do you get out of school? My kids don't get out until June 21 because of all the snow days.
