Tough times never last, but tough people do. – Dr. Robert Schuller

I figured I'd be up first.  Smile

I'm watching "Spirit of the Marathon" while having breakfast and getting ready.  I need to leave the house in about an hour.  My nerves have settled a bit.  It looks like the rain may hold off until a half hour or more into the race.

I hope to check in with a "proof of life" at around 11am with full race report soon after.

Good luck today Scott and SIAR!

            Finally PRed!!!

              Happy birthday, jojo!

Got my run in, 2.5 miles very easy, then about 3 min fast with brief all-out effort at end. Already got over 200 g of carbs in, most from Cytocarb, but also a banana, some other fruit and some juice, I'll have some oatmeal in a bit also.

              PRs: 5K: 22:09, 10K:44:55, 15K: 1:10:35, HM: 1:42:49, M: 3:32:09

Again, I apologize for not being around more often.  I went from supervising 50 employees to almost 120 and there is no end in the immediate future.  It's become less stressful, but the busy work seems non-stop.

Good luck to all who are racing this weekend and happy birthday Jodi!

19.26 in 2:46ish on a very hilly route.  Extremely happy with that and I felt I could have tacked on a few more.  I usually do 2-3 LRs before a marathon and that was the second.  I may go for another one next Saturday which is just before vacation.

Proof of life from limo w/champagne: 03:23:52. Full report later...

Julia...What a time!  That's super fast.  I can't wait to hear how you feel about it....I hope you're thrilled.

I ran a 29:23 for my 5 miler.  I'm really excited about the run.

Hope you are all celebrating in style.  Well, we know Julia is!  Post- race limo, what a great idea!

                          Happy birthday Jojo!

I ran a too-long run today. Planned 22, ended up 23.5, and due to some serious wind/ice took longer than it should.  I was tired during the last 4 miles, which also were uphill.  Not as fun/fast as my last two 20 milers, but I feel fine now that I'm done so hopefully no damage done. Another cup of coffee and I might even thaw out a little.

Coming back later to read race reports and check on those tweaking for tomorrow's races!

Yay for the PRs.  We just got into Atlanta!

                            Go figure

Jen...Wow, that's a long training run!  Still feeling fine afterwards has to be a nice confidence boost.  Remind me that it went okay for you when I have 24 to do in a couple weeks, please?  Good luck with the thawing.

Swift...I hope the legs felt good on your little shakeout run.  Enjoy that carb loading and Cytocarb (which doesn't sound too good).

Jodi...Glad to see you're in the ATL safely.  I hope you have a great dinner with the fam.

Marco...Nice to see that work is getting a little stressful for you, even if it's still busy.  Great job on your long run today.  I love your training because it's just what you do, and it seems to work really well for you.

Good luck tomorrow everybody!  Let's keep this positive mojo rolling in ATL, LA, and the Shamrock!

Scott, Julia, and SIAR--awesome times!  You all should be on cloud nine right now.  I have worked hard around the house after the LR.  I am beat but am trying to talk myself out of taking Casper for a short run later.
