I know that some people (myself included) are doing an 18 week training plan, which means that it starts this week. What are your goals for the week and how are you doing?

I'm still in the "takin' it easy" mode after running Green Bay on May 18th, but I plan to pick up my mileage totals this week. I'm still going to run only 5 days, but plan on a 30 mile week with my long run on Saturday of 9 miles. Right now I feel great and have no issues at all from the past marathon. I'm actually looking forward to logging more miles again. I'm sure that will change quickly.

I'm starting to become obsessed with ab work. When I ran Green Bay one of the worst parts after the race was how bad my abs were hurting, so I want to build up some strength.

I hear you on the ab thing...I definitely feel it in my abs after running ~2 hours if I have been slacking. And once the posture goes the wheels tend to fall off.

This week I am doing ~33 miles with a long run of 12 either Tues or Weds. (looks like t-storms on Tues.). I'm mostly doing 5 day weeks with 2 days of rest/X-training (that's where the abs come in. I think I will start biking this Summer to keep my quads strong and avoid more knee issues).

The day after Green Bay it felt like I did 500 situps; it's amazing how much you use your stomach muscles!

Good luck with the 12 miles - that seems like a pretty good place to be at this point (only 125 days to go). Surprised

Yikes! I didn't realize we were 18 weeks away already. Surprised I am glad you posted this, I thought i had a couple weeks yet to get a plan together. I will be doing about 20 - 25 miles this week, I am doing a 5 mile race on saturday so I will do 5 to 10 as my long run on sunday depending on how i feel.
