Thanks, Missy! How is your SF recovery going?

backroadrunner (Eryn) is planning to do a 15k she discovered up near her folks' place...assuming her thumb is OK. She sliced it bad--down to the bone--at work yesterday. I talked to her on the phone last night and she tried to run, but it made her thumb throb, so she decided to take the night off.

.: 2009 Goals :.
• Run 1750 miles
• 2 marathons (May - Bayshore, Fall - ?)
• PRs: 5k ~ 15k ~ 25k? ~ HM ~ 26.2
• 1st trail relay (North Country)
My 15K is a week from today, so I'm going to assume I'll be fine. It hurts like hell right now, as I went back to work today. I did it Thurs afternoon, took Fri off. I haven't run since my little mishap as it throbs when I put it below my shoulder. I was thinking of doing 13-15 miles today, but I finally got out of work & now we're having a thunder storm. Lightning seems to ruin all my runs.

I'm starting to stress a little. My mileage has been pretty shitty the last few weeks due to weather, time, kids, now my thumb. With only 6 wks left, I need to get my butt in gear!

thanks missy. this 5k was the only race I wanted to win this yr.The 5k was a memorial race for Officer Shawn Silvera, a h.s. classmate of mine that was intentionally hit by a pursued mf'er while Shawn was laying down spikes on the hwy. An ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly murder. Shawn had two small kids and a wonderful wife. It's a really small race (about 200 people) and I wanted to post a time that would distinguish the small race from the multitude of others in the state (16:30 wins most small races). I ran 15:36 for the win. Going to post sub 15 next year!!!!

Jeff, HUGE congrats on your win...and for such a good cause. My heart aches for the families and loved ones of officers killed in the line of duty. I hope this race was a little bright spot in their lives.

Next week some time...hopefully the day after Labor Day. DS has only a half day of school (he's down at a charter school near DH's work), so if DH can't take a half day to bring him home, then I will probably do it on Weds. of that week.

Looks like your mileage and lack of pain is a VERY good sign of race success. What sort of mileage peak are you looking at pre-race?
