"You can't untrain for Monkey" - bdub
Who's in?
Not I. Although I suspect I'll be there in support of mi esposa.
To that end, I'll try to set up at the 3k mark and yell "You're almost there!" when I see Strings.
Just like all those marathons where people yell "almost there" at me, just before the half/full split.
I'm out.
My nagging leg pain turned into crippling leg pain and i haven't run in 3 weeks now. diagnosis was 'medial tibia stress syndrome' which is doctor speak for 'you've got shin-splints ya puss'. didn't realize shin-splints could hurt so bad, but i suppose it's better than a stress fracture. guess ramping up mileage while running on chunky snow isn't a good combination.
hoping to still make rodes, we'll see how an easy jog this weekend goes.

2011 Goals: Don't set too many goals, stay healthy, race lots, 2 sub 4 marathons (Derby Fest 3:54:43 and Monkey fail- 4:16:21) "If you run in a tutu, you'd better be ready to win in a tutu" -The Skootr
Thanks! They changed the course and some logistics this year. Huge improvement (for a 8500 participant 5k race)
Anthem 5k (Now with 50% less fail) Race Report
"9,607 registered runners and 8,525 finishers"
Shoot me if I ever can't finish a 5k marathon.
Couldn't help but giggle at this: "9,607 registered runners and 8,525 finishers" Shoot me if I ever can't finish a 5k marathon.
It's probably because they didn't allow fat carts on the course.
MTA: Anthem needs to raise the price $5 and give medals to all finishers.
Also, it's a little odd that the piece mentioned that Wesley is running the LA Marathon in a couple of weeks, but failed to note that he is the defending champion and course record holder.
Not that that's more impressive that the Anthem, but still.
If you were at the fscking race to report on the the thing, you would have known about his win last year.
