River City Runners of Louisville

looking for daytime runners! (Read 229 times)

Hi, I'm a stay at home mom looking for daytime runners when my kids are at preschool. I want to train for the disney mini-marathon in 2011. I'm hoping to find some people, men or women, interested in running and training with me. Anyone interested???
Abbi...I can't speak for anyone here, but I have 2 jobs, so I certainly wouldn't be available.  However, I wish you all the best in finding someone to run with.  Good luck.

I do regular lunchtime runs, but the office is south of the Snyder on Preston Hwy.

I also do Friday afternoon runs after 1pm Fridays in the summer.

I wouldn't expect either of these options are what you're looking for, but I'll post here whenever I'm trying to arrange a run myself.

Sorry, I'm out as well, but I wish you the best of luck!
“I used to be a runner. Uh-huh. Not a marathoner. A runner. Marathons are bullshit. They’re all hype. Some official picks a random day, and rain or cold, you’re out there pounding the pavement alongside 50,000 other dumbfucks. No. There’s some things it’s better to do all by yourself.” Augustus Hill, Oz

            Hi Strings...

Lunchtime would work. How far do you run? I live near Iroquios park and my kids go to school up by the Synder at 71, so I'm all over the place. What time do you run? I'm pretty slow.... but I'm willing to work on it!

I usually shoot for 11-ish, 5-7 miles in 45-60 minutes.  Summer/holiday hours 1:30pm on Fridays.

Although...  if you're near Iroquois Park, the lower loop is a good workout at any pace, or you can run down Southern Pkwy if you'd prefer to run where plainly visible to traffic.

I run downtown along the Riverwalk a couple times a week at lunch.  Usually head out around 11:30 and aim for 4-6 around 9:30 pace.  Although we are getting ready to head into a busy month at work so I'm not sure how consistent I will be through the New Year but can certainly try to arrange some runs.

You could also look into one of the running clubs here in Louisville.  I really don't know much about them, other than that they exist, but would think it could be a good way to meet people.  Their organized runs are typically morning/evening and weekends, but I've got to think you could meet people who would want to run during the day.

I'd also add that I know Fleet Feet has some running groups--Saturday for those, but there might be people who can't make it on those days.

That's why it took me so long to add this remark.  It was done with much reluctance.
