Doctor suggestions (Read 243 times)

I was wondering if anyone had a sports doc in Louisville that they would recommend. My leg's been bugging me and finally decided I should probably get it checked out.  I didn't want to waste time (and copay) going to see my normal doc to just get referred out so thought I'd see if anyone here had suggestions.

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post names in the forum.

    thanks in advance.

Dr. Brad Kocian [ Fern Creek ]

I also use Physiotherapy Associates in J-Town.

I received some pretty good therapy at Kort Physical Therapy (Poplar Level Road I think) about a year ago, although I suspect any decent place could have performed as well.

I was referred there by my regular doc, who initially suggested I run less. All things being equal, I suggest finding a doctor who is a degenerate runner.  Smile

“I used to be a runner. Uh-huh. Not a marathoner. A runner. Marathons are bullshit. They’re all hype. Some official picks a random day, and rain or cold, you’re out there pounding the pavement alongside 50,000 other dumbfucks. No. There’s some things it’s better to do all by yourself.” Augustus Hill, Oz

Yeah...I like my doctor, but him telling me to run less was the beginning of the end for us. Next time I have an actual problem I'm probably gonna look elsewhere...if anyone finds a degenerate running doc, let me know...

FYI- Kort does good work, but are on the "run less" train...in fact, when I was in there they suggested to me that I consider giving up my marathon plans, saying that "some people just can't run marathons." That only pissed me off. I ran 3 last year. Fuckers Wink

If you want ART or Graston you might check out Dr. Fortes at the Score Clinic. He does exxxxcelent work and never suggests running less, but he's a little get you in rush you out, and his demeanor is a little too "hollywood" for my tastes though.

That's right, I believe we had the same doc.

Thanks all.  I'll see who's closest to me and has availability.

                appreciate it.

Dr. Kocian is pretty practical about acknowledging that a runner RUNS.

So is the physical therapist that I see.
