Stick a fork in 'em
That relentless and charming president of the Shamrocks called me on my mobile phone at work yesterday and cajoled me into running the Lake Winnie relay. This is totally against my better judgment. I did zero running from February to May due to injury. Upon my return in late May I quickly developed a little PF and have only recently been running (jogging?) little 3 mile loops from the Y a couple times a week. I’m about 15lbs heavier. The shorter relay legs are taken so I’m running a 9 or 10 miler. On a hilly course. I am completely untrained. I have less than 4 weeks to prepare.
But there’s beer after, right? See y’all there.
PS: Can someone mention the motel all the ‘Rocks are staying at?

I think this is the one you mean.
thanks!
Good luck George! Which leg did you end up with? I am doing leg 2 and although I've done it a few times before I always get anxious the week before. I don't really do many long runs and those I do manage are on the trails with more breaks than should be allowed. The worst part is waiting around for your runner to come in!
See you up there.
I'm also leg 2! We can hang. How do I get back to my car? and I hear ya about the long runs. I just managed 10 miles Sunday morning on the trails (but only one break). Much slower than last year. 15 extra lbs will do that.
