    Time to start a new week, lol

    I went and signed up for off-season swim conditioning for one of the local tri clubs last week.  I figured I could use some coaching.

     

    Monday morning, I swam 1600 yds, including one 1000 yd pull.  Wow.  I'm all impressed with myself - I made it!  Big grin

    Tonight, I'm gonna go for this:

    Duration 45-60 mins
    Distance 1600yd
    Pool length 25yd
    Issued Sep 27 2009

    Warm up

    2 x 100yd Any Stroke (even pace), rest 0:20 / 100yd

    Build up (repeat 4 times)

    1 x 25yd Streamline Kicking, rest 0:10 / 25yd
    1 x 25yd Single Arm (arm by side) 6 x left, 6 x right, 6 x full stroke, rest 0:10 / 25yd

    Core (repeat 2 times)

    8 x 25yd Backstroke Swim (Kick every 4th 25yd), rest 0:15 / 25yd
    3 x 100yd Freestyle Bilateral Breathing, rest 0:30 / 100yd

    Warm down

    4 x 50yd Easy Any Stroke, rest 0:15 / 50yd

     

    Should be a nice workout.  And there's a hot tub at the end of it... Smile

      Hot tubs are actually great for a quick warm-up before. Just a couple minutes though.

       

      Ez recovery swims felt great yesterday and today after a 50k trail race on the weekend.

       

      Monday: 3000yds

      today: 700 yds.

        I didn't quite do 50k but todays swim sure felt good after Sundays marathon. I soon felt what effect the marathon had on the legs when I slip the fins on for side drills.

          Yea, I didn't use fin for a few days. Sure is a great way to recover isn't it?

              My pool has been closed all week.  They had to drain it and replace the drain cover.  Haven't been able to get out much to run or bike either.  Sure hope they reopen soon!
