Some race reports from 2007... (Read 356 times)

You'll ruin your knees!

I just had a friend bust me about the fact that I never published a report on my adventures at Cascade Crest 100 last August, so I sat down and did a report. Here is the link if you are interested... http://www.nttr.org/html/cc2007_lballard.htm Also, if you have not had a chance to see my other reports (I'm pretty sure I posted these before), here are links to: Cactus Rose 100 - http://www.nttr.org/html/cactusrose2007_lballard.htm Bighorn 100 - http://www.nttr.org/html/bighorn2007_lballard.htm Enjoy, or ignore... Those are great reports. Thanks for writing and posting them, and congratulations on your finishes.

Speed my steps along your path, according to your will.

      Into the wild

        Thanks Lynn Smile

        Shut up and run

Nice report! I've got a few attached on my blog as well (address below).

I can't wait to read your race reports! I have limited time on the internet since I'm a mom and a full time student so am waiting 'til I have a chance to read them all from start to finish. I'm in taper mode for the 50 though (do ultra runners taper?)...well, anyway, I should have a chance to read them in the next few days or so. I did take a gander at the pictures real quick though and WOW!!! How beautiful!!! THIS is why folks run ultras! They are SO much prettier than the RnR marathons or some other marathons that are run on the roads or, even worse, boring ole' highways! Smile

            who knows...

This leads me to wonder...Is free will the possibility of limitless choice or the ability to choose among options offered? Confused Actually Lynn, I wanted to ask whether you got into Western States this year or not. (Though written as a statement, I intend the previous as a question.) If so, maybe the RA community can take turns tying Jurek's shoelaces together at the aid stations.

                Depends, what are my choices?

Nope, didn't make the lottery this year for WS, which makes me a two time loser, which makes me a winner cause two time losers in 2008 are automatic entrants in 2009! So, Scottie J better look out in 2009! I also missed out on the Hardrock lottery (180-something on the waitlist Cry), so I guess I'll not be going to Vegas anytime soon... Oh, and I am planning a Grand Slam attempt in 2009, starting with Western...but will add on a fifth with Cactus Rose, God willing...

To answer a question with a question...how very Socratic of you Smile Good luck with the Grand Slam. I am still waiting to see if my schedule will permit me a run at Mohican, and I may or may not get a second 100 in this year. But no Grand Slam for me unless I fall off a ledge or other precipice.
