Question about pain relief (Read 82 times)

Ojo

Yes, I know you should not take ibuprofen while running but I have a question about my upcoming 100 mile race.  I had root canal 6 days ago and am still experiencing minor discomfort -- not pain per say but more like a throbbing ache.  I have called the doctor, and while it has gotten better, he thinks it is going to be okay.   I have been taking Aleve to help with the ache and of course I am worried about taking it during a race.  Should I pack Tylenol in case of an emergency?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sure Tylenol would be fine.  No ibuprofen though.

Personally, I wouldn't take anything unless it is severe ie dropping out of race severe.  Maybe a little dental discomfort will distract you from the agony you will be in at mile 80!

      Good luck!

All that fretting for nothing!  Absolutely no tooth ache . . . but lots of body aches.

I am thrilled with my 1 hour 40 minute PR.
