BRING ON THE RACE!!
Love to see these two
Rob Krar -- newby but with great talent. Fun to see a "new" guy mix it with the vets!
Cassie Scallon -- met her once, talented obviously. Native wisconsinite.
I'm pacing (Terry Sentinella). It's looking to be a hot one this year. 107 in Squaw Valley in Saturday, 102 in Auburn on Sunday. I hate to think what it will be like in the canyons.
Last year (which I ran) a lot of people dropped early from hypothermia.
I'm really looking forward to all the pre-race talks, and just being around all the ultrarunning superstars. Also running the Montrail 6K Uphill Challenge, up the beginning of the course, on Friday. Though even that will be damn hot!
In addition to the big names, keep an eye on Traci Falbo, running her first. She ran 142 miles at the 24-hour world championships last month, helping the US team to a gold medal. And she's still pretty new to this distance.
Good luck and have fun in the heat.
I know she is nursing a hammy, but I will be cheering Cassie Scallon ~ WI native
I will also cheer WI native Tim Olson ~ Although he is not a long shot like Cassie
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
Others I will cheer (Oregonians, all past top 10):
Meghan Arbogast
Amy Sproston
Pam Smith
Joe Uhan
Trail Monster
I saw Traci and Mike win at Umstead last year. Both are absolute beasts and willing to take a lot more pain than anyone else I've ever seen.
2013 races:
3/17 Shamrock Marathon
4/20 North Coast 24 Hour
7/27 Burning RIver 100M
8/24 Baker 50M
10/5 Oil Creek (distance to be determined)

Cute too.

Too cool! Congrats!
My friend Patrick is running this year. If you see a crazy couple carrying a frog stuffed animal around with them that would be Patrick and his girl Allison! Tell them to kick some ass!
