It's kind of rambling, and a little long.

Short version (If you don't want to read it) I finished. I wasn't dead last. I could walk the next day.

Back of the pack ultra runner's are awesome.

That was a tough course, esp. on the 2nd half.  I was dead-legged from about 10 miles.  Very pretty and great weather.  You describe it well - tough to get in a groove for me but winner ran it in 3:40 or so.... CRAZY.
