Are we there, yet?
May I join? I'm a middle distance runner (800m - 5K) who has friends trying to talk me into running the fall NC24 race.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
Certainly. I think that you will surprise yourself with how much distance you can cover in 24 hours.
Nobody leaves this place without singing the blues.
Or 12. They do have a 12 hour option.
I see you've already signed up, George. See you (and the fudge) next year! For the RWOL folks, don't be fooled by Buzzie -she is already a great ultrarunner.
I'm not sure that's me. I looked at the results link next to my name and I never ran any of those races.
Bacon Party!
Sue, you crack me up!
Pot. Kettle.
BTW - loving yer doggie!

Running for 24 hours is silly - But it is funny of many silly 24 hour runners we have around this place.
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !

Of course.

Just don't start talking about 1/2 mile races in here.
By the way - we tend to make our running logs public here in RA. Not that you are forced to do so (and in fact, mine is hidden for very good reason at the moment....).
Purdey used to have the sexy woman from "The Avengers" as an avatar and it took me a while before I stopped hitting on him
Purdey is back. Just for DB.

Ha-ha. Thought that you'd had a sex change.

I've never had an on-line log. I keep mine in Excel and it looks like too much work to reenter it here. Basic current info: 30 mpw, 5 or 6 days, longest run in the 7-10 mile range, try to get in one interval workout a week. Short term goals: 800m and mile improvement over last year (3:28 and 7:57 respectively). Indoor track season ends March 3 and I can reset my focus then. And I've been running since 1968 and have raced as long as a marathon, though my last one was 30+ years ago.
Thanks for the welcome, Purdey!
I'm one of the new, adventurous ultra runners, and look forward to learning from everyone here.

There may be User Groups which meet your needs better - but if you really want to have a crack at a 24hr race then please stick around and listen to DoppleBock and WrigleyGirl.... and then go to your Doctor to get your head examined.
