You'll ruin your knees!

Kilnsey Show Fell Race in North Yorkshire... by Stephen Garnett found on BBC In Pictures.   Love it!

""...the truth that someday, you will go for your last run. But not today—today you got to run." - Matt Crownover (after Western States)

You have to see the pictures of these guys coming down.....now that is scary. I have scree run once and once only.

In any good Fell Race they have a "Best Blood" award which goes to the person with the grimmest blood injury

      You'll ruin your knees!

I'd rather run downhill in scree than in wet grass!

And for some reason, this makes me think of CHEESEROLL!

Great picture!  And the cheeseroll - Holy crap!!

As luck would have it I have just finished the Beachy Head Marathon, which, although of ultra status is classified one of the toughest marathons in the south of the UK and officially designated as a Fell race is actually a Downland race (open area of chalk hills)

            Here is my race report

Great report, Jerry.  As I posted on your site, good job staying on your feet and finishing in other than ideal conditions.

Congrats on a good showing and very nice job on the report.

Nice photo, Lynn...and if you haven't read it yet, get "Feet in the Clouds", by Richard Askwith. I really enjoyed reading the book and it opened my eyes to the world of Fell running. I now want to do a Bob Graham round before I die ;-)

Are you running Cactus Rose? If so, enjoy and say hi to my bro-in-law Drew Meyer!

Yep, bought it and read it at the advice of "rgot" himself (columnist in UR magazine, see back page).  I am going down for the 50 at Cactus and will be cheering for Drew in his attempt at 100!  It's a tough race for Texas!

Might be the last thing you do before you die!
