What if we held off on the NZ virtual race until April (maybe Claire would be a bit less tortured spending time on RA by then, since she will be nearing the time when she can get back to running, again) and instead did one in Ireland in 2 weeks, since St. Patty's day falls on a Sat. and people may be doing races that day, anyhow? Plus our weather is likely to be really miserable this Sat. and I'm not certain I will want to do my long run at much more than a very easy pace. Thoughts...? k

What do other people think? Guys?

      Roads were made for journeys...

Sounds good to me. I'm still limping today so I know I won't be doing any racing until then. I vote to wait. Smile Teresa

i don't mind if that's what everyone wants to do but it would mean I have to drop out. Cheers D

How are you doing with your training? I have not been running like I should due to all the damned snow and ice. And tdoay the wind is screaming. If I could run all down wind I'd have a 5 min pace or better. And I am nursing ITBS. The knee brace helps a lot. Tomorrow is 7 miles wind or no and I'll know more then how I am coming along. The 2 weeks wait sounds good.

To paraphrase an old poster: Today is the first day of the rest of your training. It doesn’t matter where you started or how far you’ve come. Today is the day. Your training didn’t start 6 weeks ago. Your training started the last time you hit the road. John “the Penguin” Bingham Life is not tried, it is merely survived if you're standing outside the fire

Yeah. I've really had it with this Winter. It's March...thank heavens it's "in like a lion, out like a lamb." Only a few more weeks before we should start seeing warmer, less snowy crap. Yesterday was REALLY bad here. Snow followed by ice followed by that ambiguous "wintry mix." All blowing sideways. And still cold as hell. Wait, Hell would be warm. I'll take Hell.

I'm sick so I definetly could go with that idea (though I would even if I wasn't sick)!

Great idea. Racing in NZ without Claire doesn't feel right... And a two week's delay suits me too! I would have skipped the race this weekend... bas
