Well, It looks like the big winner this month is Pam. She was the sole entry in the Marathon category but for sure she deserves kudos for the fact she cut 30 mins off her PR and won first in her division!

And Westy gets ultimate props for 3 #1s...well done, I don't like you, you're too damn fast! Wink

So the Virtual Racers were quiet this month. We need to create some excitement and gather some new peeps. Spread the word. I will also post something in the racing forum later this month.

I think we should bring the virtual locations photos back. I have already begun the new form for posting with a photo and the new pages to display them so we should be good to go.

Any thoughts on our first location for the return of Virtual Locales?

I just got around to looking to upload and realized taht I couldn't have done it anyway. No 50k option!

The nice thing about running a distance for the first time is certainly the PR. Placing fifth overall wasn't too bad either.

Hey Daddyo, it wasn't my first marathon (it was my first one out of 3 scheduled for this fall however). My first one was in 2005, but hey I cut a half hour off my time.

WTG Blaine!! Congrats!!

Aha, your post in MMM threw me off, although I did think you had run one before Smile

Nice 30min cut! I hope I can cut 30 mins off my time next month!

Thanks for the props, Daddyo! I'm just trying to compensate for the fact that I can't "go long" so to speak. My longest race ever was a 10 miler back when I was a teenager. I'm hoping to run my first half marathon in October though so we'll see what happens!

Hi Drew. Indeed, I am. Originally, I was hoping to be ready to run the full marathon. I had a sub-par July as far as training goes so I'm just now building back up. Figured there wouldn't be enough time since there's less than a month and a half left. Are you doing the Columbus Marathon this year?

I'm doing the half, as well. Probably finishing a bit behind you, though. Don't you do a lot of stuff with the CRC? (I'm not a webstalker, just happen to spend a lot of time lurking on their website/message board)

I do quite a bit with those guys, actually. I run for their "blue" team which is pretty much the equivalent of their J.V. team. I try to run with the group runs that they have... Monday nights, Wednesday track workouts and Saturday morning runs. They're an awesome group of guys. If it wasn't for them, I probably wouldn't have gotten back into running and I most definitely wouldn't have stuck with it. Have you been to any of their runs yet?

That's cool that you'll be doing the C-Bus half also. If you see 3 guys rocking CRC jerseys at the race, that'll be me and my buddies Aaron and Brent (two other blue team guys). Have you run the Columbus half before? I'm not sure of what to expect since I've never run a race that long or one with nearly as many people.

I haven't done any runs with them yet, but I go down to the store to look around and ask questions every few weeks. I feel like I probably know those guys pretty well but they have no idea who I am. They seem like great people, and I wish I had the time right now to do more of the stuff they put together.

I've never done a race longer than 4 miles before, so this is all new to me as well. I'm incredibly new to running (started semi-seriously in December and more strictly in August this year), but I'm really looking forward to this race.

I'll be looking for you guys, but like I said... if I see you it will probably be as you're running away! Big grin
