VR Mile (Read 433 times)

I seem to be the only one interested in the VR mile. I think we can get just about everyone to just submit a time: the fastest mile in your last race/workout, a segment of and interval workout, or whatever.

I did a mile race but it was in December? Can I add that?

I'm the race director for a mile race, but it's in June, and we lost our principal sponsor and may not even have the race this year...

I added my pokey segment in there, didn't want you to have an empty victory, Joe!

I added too. 6:15 ... I will make a concerted effort in a future run, this mile was taken from a strong finish to the end of an easy 7 miler. I don't know if I will be able to do much faster though. I predict 5:45 would be as fast as I could do right now.
MTA: Macmillan calculator says 6:09 is my predicted time based on a PR 5K of 21:19...but I think I can do better

One of these days I need to go out and run just ONE mile...I have no clue how fast I'd be. In HS we had to run the mile and I'd fart along at about an 8 minute pace--I was a track runner, too, but never took the mile PE test seriously at all. I also never ran more than a mile or two non-stop. I'll bet I could do better than 8 minutes now at race pace...hmmm...

I'll stick a timed mile in at the end of my training tomorrow. It's not going to beat yours though

Looking at your PR's from last year I bet you could beat my time.

Hmmm, maybe.... I've never really tried to run a fast mile on its own. A mile is usually half way through my warmup!

I actually did a one mile TT back in early January. We got a couple of 50F days in Michigan, so me and a couple of friends from work hit the track to get an 'early season' mile in. We're planning on doing one every six-eight weeks throughout the year to see if/how we're progressing. 6:27 pace for me. I'll add it in now.
