New Form for submitting times - starts now with May Race! (Read 837 times)

tipsy chicks

    I'm still interested in adding a 20K race... If we decided not to add new races could we use McMillan's Running Calculator and submit the projected time of the closest race? Examples: ( If I were to race a 20K in 1:30:00 then I would submit a 1/2 marathon time of 1:34:59, or if I ran 4 miles in 33:00 minutes then I would submit a 5 mile time of 41:49.) What does everyone think?
    I think that's a pretty cool idea, personally! I will be doing a 25k in less than a week...I sure would like to be able to count that towards a virtual HM, perhaps.... Smile k

      Thanks so much, DaddyO!

      It's not the heat, it's the stupidity.

      When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?

        Drew, these are the pre decided pre determined distances that have been around for the last couple of virtual year. That said, ubless anyone objects, we can add other distances. thoughts?
        IMO, assuming it's easy to do, I think we should have all of these distances.

        @BeachesRunner

          The only issue being, popularity. There will be a lot of people finishing "First" out of .... well, one. Smile

          Inhale

            That may be the only chance I get to actually win a race. Big grin Seriously, though. It's no big deal. I'm running a 5k tonight. I'll include that time instead.

            Yes, I do "run in this."  So should you.  The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.

            @BeachesRunner

              Sounds good...I think we would also be willing to accept the 4K as a 5k based on McMillan....your choice. cheers

                May Results are in! So many good efforts and welcome to our new racers (including my lovely better half, Needy) ---> View Results Here <> Thanks for your patience as we ironed out (hopefully) all of the bugs. Good work everyone! Dave
                  I got preoccupied with my occupation and forgot to submit my race details. I was looking forward to using the super-cool new form developed by Daddyo. Can I still submit? Smile

                  @BeachesRunner

                    Sure thing Squid, post your race time here and I will enter it for you.Last call, anyone else? D@D
                      Daddyo - thanks very much and sorry about the hassle! Promise not to be a straggler next time. Here is the info you need. Smile Division: Half Marathon Time: 1:44:39 *PR* Comments: I reduced my HM PR by 10:31. Yes!

                          Thanks! Six months of training following my first HM paid off! I don't anticipate another time reduction like that to occur 6 months from now on account of < diminishing="" returns="" /> ... but, who knows. Maybe I can push my body to another PR. Smile

                            Nice job Squidly...I hope for the same results this weekend. My old HM PR is 1:53:00 and I am aiming for 1:45:00 - I am running a full marathon 2 weeks later so I do not want to overdo it so if it's not feeling right I will hold back until another day Smile
                              Thanks! You could go out at 8.00 for the first 3 miles to see how you feel. Then maybe increase it to 7.45 for a couple of miles to see what that feels like (or stay conservative and maintain your 8.00). Get through the next 5 by sticking to 8.00 or slightly increasing to 7.45. Then you can give it your all if you are feeling great or maintain a steady final 5k. Your upcoming Marathon makes it a bit tricky! You are due for a PR though; your HM time is from 2006. Big grin But like you said, you want to save yourself for the Marathon event.
