      Good morning all!

It's interesting to be the early bird, today.   I was awake at 4:30 this morning and instead of laying in bed being upset that I couldn't go back to sleep, I decided to just go ahead, start the coffee, and enjoy the quiet and solitude of early morning.

Today is core day.  RB#1 and I are signed up for a tandem training with Sir Core-meister!  I haven't been in the gym for about a week due to my trip south.  I'm thinking this could be ugly... lol

I'm only working 1/2 day today, then I'm off for a full week!  yipee!

      Y'all have a wonderful day.

Well, it's not the end of the world but my furnace will not run now. Does that happen at the end of the world? Big grin I shall call apartment maintenance. Hopefully they can fix it today.

Thursday I did 50 minutes on the track, some with coach. There was a weird guy who was watching me (as he usually does). The alarming thing was that when I had finished working out, dressed to go home and started to walk out of the building, he was waiting for me at the front door. I hid inside the gym at the front desk until he was gone, then dashed out the other wing to my car. Today I will see the manager as soon as I go in and ask for an escort to my car when I leave from now on.   :::shudder:::

Today I shall do a track run in spite of the creeps. Grr! Angry

        Happy runs, All! :::HUGS:::

        Where is the "any" key?

Happy end of the world day. or is that tomorrow.

We're still here so I guess I better finish shopping.

Saturday night now has my brother and his family coming... Fun! Really, I mean that in a good way. will balance dh's sis and husband coming. They were the ones that we contemplated in the past meeting them at the door with food in take out boxes since they eat and run (not like us though). My family will consume much food and beverages and stick around. Thus... fun!  Smile

I think today is supposed to be the last day, so if we are here tomorrow, we made it! Enjoy your last day, ladies.

I have big so busy trying to finish the January issue, teach my last few classes, and prepare for my trip to Israel. In addition to my regular lesson plans for the week, I have to do a lesson plan to teach at a high school in Hadera next week.

After my leg got better, I came down with a bad cough. It's been hard to run but as it improves I have been increasing mileage. I ran 5 miles yesterday, I hope to run a little more today.

So, no I haven't been keeping up with everybody, I don't know how you all are doing. I do plan on running the Karnel Memorial on February 5.

I hope everyone is well and will have a wonderful, blessed, peaceful holiday next week. And a great New Year.

            Amy

edited: I just saw that camille's brother has been ill. I am so sorry, but glad to see he will be better.

And Carolyn, can you do the book club in the kitchen? I'd be terrified of red wine spills on light upholstery and rugs.

Run to live; live to run

Windy as all get out here so I left later for my run than 4 am. Even with lights I didn't want to step on something I missed like twigs or acorns or those seed pods and get hurt. Or have something blow down on me. Having some predawn light to assist was a good thing. Now to recover bows and stuff that got blown all over the place. We are sustained at 30 with gusts to 40mph now. It was a lot stronger earlier

Good Morning - glad we are all here!!

No school due to the storm that continues - so I took advantage of the extra morning time and ran 10 interval miles on the TM (though interrupted after 8 for a potty break, which works okay when you're inside lol).  I am going in to work for a few hours, my oldest DD can stay with the younger kids, gotta get a 'to do' list done for them Big grin

Julie - ahh, that workout sounds killer, but effective!

Judy - sorry about the creepy guy, what is it with some of these men?  Be safe

Lisa - glad you are getting in some fun family time!  How are the grandkids doing?

Amy - sorry to hear of your injury/illness, but glad you are running again and back here posting!

Marjorie - yes, lots of wind here, that's what is the worst thing about this storm.  We don't have a whole lot of snow but the rain, cold temps and now wind are making it nasty.  Glad I only work about 1.5 miles from my home.

                ginnyb

Lisa.....sounds like a fun time with your brother and family.

Judy....yuck about weird guy at the track!  Yes, make sure you get an escort to your car from now on, that is scary!  Hope you get that furnace working too!

Amy...nice to hear from you and that your leg has healed and you are up and running again!

I have my 2 GD's overnight tonight, will probably bake cut out sugar cookies and then let them decorate, plus make some easy candy things that I make, sing some christmas carols.  All in all should be fun tonight.  My DH is off coaching basketball now, so I won't see him again in the evenings until February sometime.....that is not exaggerating much , believe me.

Please let the weirdos stay home instead of coming to the library today!

                    Good morning!

Woke this morning to DD hovering over my bed telling me we had 20 more minutes here on earth and do I have any cleans bras for her! Really, the world is ending and you need a better fitting bra? wear the old one!

Did my collection of "blown from the house" wreath collection this am and with a little repair, they should be good enough to rehang.

I am probably healed enough from lastest neck procedure to run today and may try to slip in a few miles once this wind and rain dies down.

Judy - Too funny about losing your furnace on the day the world is supposed to end. Hope it's back cranking soon, and be careful at the gym. Sounds like you know what you have to do.

Julie - I know that feeling of giving up trying to sleep and just starting the day. Sometimes it's those last few minutes you doze off that make it so much harder to wake fully for the day.

Lisa - Glad to hear you look forward to family visiting; I too am having a few people in for the first time in 25 years! We don't see each other much and maybe that's better, but it will be nice to have people in the house.

Amy - Safe travels and take care of that cough; it can lead to nastier things!

Marjorie - Sometimes you just have to wait due to weather; there's dedication and then there is stupidity! Hope the clean up for you is quick.

LC - Hope the few hours at work go quickly and you're back home safe to enjoy the start of the holiday!

Hi Ginny - Cookies, candy, and Christmas carols. What more does it take? Enjoy. DD has friends coming over tonight for a cookie baking party. So glad the kitchen gets cleaned Friday mornings!

Stay safe in this wind and a toast to the days ahead!

I am back from 5.77 mile run. Only coughed when I stopped running. Never felt the urge during the run.

Ginny, when my husband was working I rarely saw him  at all, I think that's why we've stayed married for so long. Enjoy those evenings alone, I would. and have fun with the GDs.

Laura, ugh, snow. I am not sure I could live in it again.

Marjorie, it's chilly here this morning and very, very windy.

I will bring my running stuff with me to Israel. I am staying with a family over the weekend (Dec. 28-30) and the mom is a runner (over-40, too!), so she said she would take me for a run Saturday morning.

                      Nolite te bastardes carborundum.

Good Morning!  Since the world hadn't ended I went to the pool and swam laps this morning.  Water was nice and warm.  I haven't been able to get my tail to the pool since October, so this was a little victory!  Did pilates yesterday after work.  I am just useless after that, but I always sleep SO well.

Just working half day today.  Have to sign refi paperwork.  Yipee!!

Judy --hope they have the furnace working this afternoon.  YIKES on the weirdo!!  Report him to mgmt and definitely get an escort to the car!!!

                        Amy--glad the leg is better.

                        HI Laura, Camille, and Julie!!

                        Have a great day!

well yes, we are still here, but at the library the front doors won't open and the public computers are down!  so far a good day!  Patrons can't get in the dang door!

Amy...I do enjoy my evenings alone!  Only problem is that we only have one car, so I can't go anywhere if I need to run to the store or something, especially tomorrow, when he needs to leave the house at 2:45 and I have so much to do!

Well, the world is still here. Did the Mayans mean the end of the day would be the end of the world? When does the sun actually hit the Tropic of Capricorn, anyway?

Ginny, ouch. How come the door won't open? And I don't envy you if you have to tell all the would-be computer users that the computers are down. Finals week for a lot of colleges and there's online shopping to finish!

Amy, glad you managed a run without coughing. Safe travels!

Susan, refi? Good for you. I am so glad we did ours last spring.

Julie. off for a week, I am envious.

Judy, hope you can have an escort. Definitely put the gym on alert about the creep.

Lisa, HAH on the eat & run relatives being met with take out boxes. That is rude, running in, eating, and taking off. You're inviting them to your home, not to a fast food restaurant.

And good point on the benefits of starting on 12/28 rather than 1/2 if the benefits depend on calendar year of hire rather than date of hire.

Marjorie, ugh on the wind, we just had it too. Hope you managed to recover everything that blew off.

Laura, I left a "To Do" list for the kids too. They are going to The Hobbit at 11 but they can get some work done as well IMHO.

Lucky you to have such a short commute!

Carolyn, I think I would hold book club in the kitchen too. That's where people gravitate anyway. Or yes they do still make those plastic slipcover things for furniture -- but I think the point was that you were supposed to take the plastic off the furniture for company.

                            Check this out:

Worth reading just for the comments. Between the one reviewer who said these and her waterproof pants have improved her life and the other who said that she has cats and she was always embarrassed when guests walked away with hair on their bottoms, I was giggling for some time.

3.2 this morning. I definitely didn't want to get up after a late night -- took DS to choir party, went to choir practice which was very long because we are doing a lot of extra music for the holiday services, then picked up DS, went home, and finally had some dinner. But I hauled out because I won't get a run at lunch, it's our department luncheon today.

And DS saw "Les Mis" last night -- the choir parent hosting the party is a voting Academy member and had a screener copy. Loved it. Wants to see it in the theatre.

                            Happy Friday!

Run to live; live to run

14.2 for me.  I didn't want to miss something (i.e. step on something and get hurt) because I missed it!).  The wind had been bad all night and with the storm that we had (rain) I didn't want to get tangled up in something.  Even though it is pretty well lit but you never know.  And It was a good thing since there was a small limb that was hanging low low low and I'd probably have missed it if it had been really dark and it would have  meant I would have run right into it.

Judy glad the furnace is working now.  Boo to creepy dumb people.

Julie yes we are still here.  Not that it should have been a problem.

                                Lisa happy shopping.

Amy glad the leg is feeling better.

Laura stay safe in the storm

Ginny have a great time with the GD's

Carolyn I only had to retrieve one red bow and a few of the bells that I fell off of the windows but they were right under the windows so easy enough.
