Wet Wednesday - Supermoms (Read 31 times)

armmama

mrszm - I had to wake L up from his nap yesterday too.  I hate doing that!

ernie - cute about the older boys.  L's boy cousins (ages 10-11) get such a kick out of L, it's adorable.

bermy - I ran a half 5 months pp and nursed L at 3am before I left for the race and then was OK running but as soon as I finished my boobs exploded, lol.  DH said to everyone else it probably just looked like I was really sweaty Smile

spike - vintage flea market sounds fun, I hope you find some good stuff!  L isn't scared of anything yet except my big exercise ball.  ha.

taking DD to school when I drop L off at MMO.  She still says her stomach hurts but she is running all over the house so it obviously isn't bad enough to keep her in bed.

    Marathonjen

stoller - Ewwww...to surgery.  I am glad you enjoyed it but I don't think that my stomach could handle that.  So sweet about getting a card from DH...you are always on his mind.  What do you want to do, specifically, once you have your degree?  My friends husband is a PA and worked for a hospital at first but at to work such weird hours.  Now he is part of a clinic with 1 doctor and he loves it...but says it is pretty routine.

mrszm - Wow C is taking some killer naps!  Good for him.  Too cute about the girls and the sweaty bands.  Do both play soccer?  Have a great low key day!

arm - Really hope DD3 isn't getting sick.  Take care of your ankle...I think you are smart to rest another day.  Glad you found some stuff for your Vegas trip. Are you going with DH or someone else?  I hope you have a great time.

ernie - Boo to having to stay home all day on a crappy rainy day.  I hope Boot Camp is good.  Too cute about the little boys taking S for a ride. At least they were good with her.

Bermy - So you never got your hair done?  That stinks.  What bad customer service and I would have left too.  Glad you had fun at the Hockey game.  I have never been to an NHL game but heard they are lots of fun.  Nice that you got to sit in a corporate box too.  Take advantage of the taper...you are smart to take it easy and let your body rest and repair for the big run.  I am so excited for you!!  Sounds like you have a fun day planned...enjoy walking and exploring.  Oh...I totally can relate to not running much while Bfing...I tried and the higher my mileage the less milk I produced.  Even with just 4-5 miles at time my milk supply dropped a lot.  I don't know how some women do it.

Spike - Nice job on the run.  Glad R is feeling better today but not good that he is ornery.  Sometimes unexpected days off turn out to be quite productive.  Glad you got a lot of stuff done but boo to no nap!!  I would have chosen to get housework done too.  Sounds like a fun trip to the flea market for the weekend. Have you been before?  Do you find good things?  Hope it is a fun time.

RR:  So today would normally be 'Run Club' night but now I'm having doubts about the club in general.  Some background, the club was started by a former neighbor who we've known for years.  Several current neighbors including my family all still hang out together mainly during the summers b/c the one guy likes to throw parties.  My DH has suspected for awhile that something is amiss with this crowd of folks..Examples, one guy that gets drunk and takes random pics of boobs/booties of any woman that walks by, lots of generally inappropriate comments, and I have occasionally been grabbed by the one guy (like playful 'lets pick up Eileen' and not put her down style), one guy carries around a video of another guys wife having sex .  Than I find out last week that several of these people occasionally sleep with each other - threesome style. One of the couples is married and one guy joins in on the couple while his now ex girlfriend isn't around. I just can't look at  these folks that same anymore, their behavior is just childish and inappropriate in my eyes.  Party of me thinks I shouldn't care who is doing what with who but I just feel uncomfortable around them now.  I have enjoyed the Run club but there are others in town I'm sure.  DH says he's done with all of them and would prefer I not go to t his run club anymore.   Thoughts anyone?

        strollermama

dexy - Sounds like a swingers run club...  I would probably stay away.

mrszm - Can't wait to see this homemade sweaty bands!!  And yay for the marathon naps.

arm - Ugh on the weather, good call on skipping it.  Does everyone who was signed up last year get a guaranteed entry?

spike - Jealous on your gorgeous weather!

          Bad Ass Mother Runner

            Morning!

RR - 8k tonight, and ST'ing this morning both w/ RP.

TR - she's suddenly doing card tricks, as in 'mommy pick a card any card, don't show me, show everyone else'... where did she learn this??  Is it on a sesame street episode?  I don't think she's been in a casino Smile

BR - posted on fb last night, she's totally  maintaining her curve and is doing great.  We have a ped appt for her size but the ped is going to think that our family dr is on crack.  Oh well, it's  nice to have a ped and hard to get one, so I'm keeping the appt.

            FR - leftovers.

NRR - my parents might have found a lot to buy in a town about 40 minutes away, that's the perfect distance for my mother to live from me Smile

zorbs- what kind of fish do you use in your chowder? I generally like "seafood" chowder better than clam chowder, not big on clams.

runnergirl- Our park has big tractor tires half buried in the sand and I can't get R to climb through them.

carly- wow, talk about crazy SIL being disorganized! I've gone to a friends house for dinner only to find they hadn't even started cooking and it would be like 2 hours before its ready, so we ended up leaving before it was done and grabbing fast food because R was tired (we weren't the only guests so we didn't put them out too badly).

eh- are you guys DRIVING to Alabama with the kids? Jeez! Long drive, you are a brave woman!

Mer- I'd sooner run in the rain than on the TM.

Jen- R is almost 22 mos and 25 lbs, he's a peanut too and I have a hard time keeping his pants from sliding off his butt.  I need to pick out outfits for family pics in June. R eats as much as the 3-4 year olds at daycare and just doesn't put on weight.

Strollermama- Part of me wishes that I had gone into medicine. I have the brains, but didn't have the drive or the money for the schooling.

armama- how did you get guaranteed entry into NYCM? Cool! Have fun in Vegas- there is a lululemon and a ginormous Forever21 in the Fashion Show Mall if you get time to shop.

Ernie- R's Godparent's next door neighbors have four wheelers and power wheels and stuff, and R loves to play on them.

Bermy- sorry about the bungle at the hair dressers. I've known my hairdresser since I was 3 (we did gymnastics together as kids) and she rocks. Glad you had fun at hockey- I bet the corporate booth was nice for bringing DS with you. I don't think I ran anything longer than a 10k while I was nursing, good for that lady.

Spike  - You could be a PA!  Initially I wanted to go to med school but I knew I wanted to have kids early, so I chose PA school.  Also, it is about 1/4 of the price of med school Smile

armama- my dog is afraid of my exercise ball, so I deflated it. It was seriously ridiculous.

Jen- Yeah, it was nice getting caught up on everything so I won't feel like I have to work really hard on Sunday for being gone on Saturday. I've never gone before, its a one-day a year deal  www.thevintagefaire.com . Kinda like the Farm Chicks Show if you've ever heard of that. Farm chicks are from the Spokane area which is about 2 hours from where I live, but this one is in Okanogan which is also 2 hrs away but in a different direction Smile

Dexy- Umm I think I'd skip the creepy swingers/run club.

Strollermama- MIL said they got another foot of snow yesterday in Genessee, sorry your weather is crap Sad

CA- Yay for your parents being closer- My mom lives about 30 minutes away which is great- close enough to visit with her or ask her to babysit, but not so far that its an ordeal.

I looked into it and the info I found said that I would need at least 2 years as a nurse or something. I know PA's and NRPs are really highly in demand. My previous doctor was actually a nurse practitioner and she was awesome. I was sad when she moved.  I unfortunately already went back to school while I was pregnant with R and got a technical degree in Electrical transmission systems.

zorbs - Fun about the swing!  I cannot wait for nightly trips to the park.

rg -  A shopping day sounds like a blast.  Our best mall (that is closest) is outdoors, but still a great place to bum around.  Glad you had a good trip to the park.

cx2 - Haha!  Yeah.  Up late for kids does not mean sleeping in!  Sorry the night wasn't great.

eh! - I hope your shift goes quick tonight and that DS can find some relief.  Yay for your trip. I  am excited for you!

jen - Not too sure about the shots...I guess we shall find out.  Glad J ate well.  Panera sounds really good.

stroller - That is really cool about the surgeries.  I tell the kids it is all about finding something you love to do.  That is very sweet of your DH to send the card.  When I was in college, DH would send me a card every week. I still have them all....now I only get them on special occasions.  No worries about yesterday.  It is confusing to have a runninmer and a runninmere!

mrszm - Your RP makes some pretty cool stuff!  A 3.5 hour nap sounds heavenly...for myself!

armmama - Woo Hoo about the marathon!  How exciting!

ernie - That is sweet of those older boys to take her for a ride!  Those are pretty cool moments.

bermy - Enjoy your day out!  I love going to farmers markets!  Boo about the hair place.  That would piss me off!  Good for you for walking out!

spike - Great run yesterday.  Glad you got a few things done.  Your weekend plans sound like fun despite the 4 hours in the car!

dexy - Whoa...that is some crazy stuff.  Not sure if I would want to stay away or go just for the entertainment of their behavior.

CAR - That is great that your parents are moving closer.  Glad to hear everything is where it should be with O.  You are doing a great job, Mama!

                      Upcoming Races:

                      Bad Ass Mother Runner

zorbs - enjoy the rest day! M loves her swing, but hasn't figured out how to ride it on her stomach.

RG - Hope the MLR goes well. Hope the rain/tshowers stay away!!

cx2 - do you have an elliptical at home? We do but rarely use it. UGH on your SIL, I would have lost it on her over the cheap/expensive pizza.

reh - yup that sounds like iron deficiency. I hope you feel better once you start taking them. I hope the prunes work! Constipated at the start of a trip isn't any good.

mer - I hope you get your run in today! I love seeing their stats too!

Jen - poor kid in the haircut! I bet he does look cute, I love little boys with fresh new haircuts! Other than being a rolly polly, O is just tiny also, I still have her in some 3-6 mos stuff.

stroller - ugh, I'm not cut out for anything medical, I'd have passed out for sure seeing those surgeries!! Sounds like something you'd do really well in though.

mzm - fun on the homemade sweaty bands! I've thought of making them, they are super simple, but unless you made a number of the same pattern, it probably isn't much cheaper.

arm - good idea to rest that ankle! Fun on the NYC entry! It's on my bucket list but it's so hard to get into.

ernie - I hate being stranded at home without a car... even though there are days I don't go anywhere, I just feel more isolated without wheels.

bermy - I read that article yesterday in my bath. I love them, and want to run with them and be their bff's... in my dreams I know. I hear ya on the milk logistics... I'm still deciding what to do on Sunday, I'm planning to nurse her at her normal 5-6am time, and then I need to be at the race around 7, so not a lot of point in pumping before the race but I won't be home until noon if I stay for the after race door prizes and such. I guess I'll bring my pump and pump afterwards in the bathroom if I feel the need.

spike - nice job w/ the stroller yesterday!! the weather is looking up here, it's about time.

dexy - I'd find another run club... I'm too straight laced for that lifestyle.

Looks like I'm not carless today, after all, yay! The mechanic called and my DH's car is ready, so I can walk over and pick it up. I really need to grocery shop, so it's good timing.

Arm - Between the ankle twinge and the rain, definitely a good call to skip a 2m run! So exciting about your NYC marathon spot!

Bermy - Bfing logistics and long races could be complicated! I never raced anything longer than 10k when I was nursing, but I remember for my first pp race, a 5k when S was 3 mos old, I was terrified that my boobs were going to explode all over my shirt from the excitement of racing. Lol. Luckily there was no explosion. I'm glad you had fun at the hockey game! I love hockey but I haven't been to a game in a few years. I would be so pissed at that hairdresser!

Spike - Mmm, I love pulled pork. Glad R is feeling better, even if it means he's ornery. The clinging koala thing sounds kind of cute. Flea markets are not my thing, but fun that you might get to spend the day with your girlfriends!

Dexy - The swinging thing is kind of entertaining gossip, but the grabbing, taking inappropriate pictures and sex video is totally creepy! I think I'd stay away from that run club.

CA - So funny about the card tricks! Lol on 40 minutes being the perfect distance from your mother. I live an hour away from my mother, which works well for me. My sister lives half an hour away from her and says it's too close.

                                back for personals...

RR2: the run went great today, a little over 11 miles, with 3@ tempo pace (avg. 6:38/mile). felt good, and i'm really starting to get excited for my marathon next month!!!

Cx2- ugh, late bedtimes never seem to result in sleeping in for toddlers! that's why i try to keep R's normal bedtime when we go away, even though people want him to stay up and visit. I tell them, if he doesn't get enough sleep he'll be super cranky in the morning, and you definitely won't want to visit with him then! OMG, your dinner sounds like a circus, yikes!!! As for shopping, R needs some t-shirts for summer. Probably hit up Old Navy, as I have a bunch of rewards $ to use up!

r-eh- could it be something other than just your iron causing the dizziness? sorry you're feeling crummy, and hope you can start perking back up soon! have fun on your trip- do your kids travel well?

Mer- i hope it stops raining so you can get out and run today!!! i hate the TM so much! Glad your presentations went well yesterday. Good luck to J on his check-up today.

Jen- the weather is great here- cool mornings in the 40's, and afternoons in the 60's. Perfect running weather for me, and playing outside weather for R! I try to take him outside every day, even if it's just for a few minutes- it's good for both of us!!! I started taking him for walks when he was 4 days old, and he always seemed so content outside.

Stroller- a week and a half until your marathon- i'm getting excited for you!!! that does seem like a speedy run this close to the marathon, but Pfitz knows what he's doing. Glad H is happy in the crib, R's the same way- if I can sneak by his room w/o him seeing me in the morning I can have a few minutes to make coffee, take the dog out, etc. Glad you had fun w/ the ortho surgeries! Love the running connection in the OR, too! And how awesome that DH already sent you a card!!! I'll run 22 this weekend, then 15, 10, and marathon!

mrszm- have a great run today. R has been taking some epically long naps too lately. fortunately, he's been going down earlier in the morning, but still waking at normal time, so i dont' have to wake him up. he's such a grump if i wake him from a nap! i loved the sweaty band pic you posted on FB! enjoy the quiet day.

armmama- i hope it clears up for tennis tonight, yikes on the ankle- rest it, ice if you can! YAY for guaranteed entry into NY!!!! that's sooo exciting. hope you were able to register w/ no problems today. great job L on the shopping trip. R is good as long as I'm moving/pushing the cart. I can't really stop and browse thru stuff. As a result, I haven't gone clothes shopping in FOREVER! when do you head to Vegas?

Ernie- how'd bootcamp go? awww, that's sooo cute about the little boy taking S for a ride! Did you tell DH that some older boy picked her up yesterday, lol! Have a great run later. I did just 3 tempo miles this morning. My calf started twinging, and I didn't want to chance anything this close to the race. Yeah, the indoor playground is creepy crawly, yuck!

Bermy- you're NOT a fraud, you're tapering!!! Many of us will be in the same boat as you w/in the next couple of weeks ourselves. It's hard to figure out what to do with all of that extra (nervous) energy! I ran a 5K when R was 3 months old, but just nursed him right before we left for the race, and he napped for about 3hrs, so timing things wasn't a problem! I know some women have pumped in port-a-potties before the race start, yikes! glad you had so much fun at hockey, i love going to games!!! enjoy your day out- I love farmers markets and cna't wait until our local one opens back up in June! Booo on the hairdresser mess up! I would have left too, after giving them a piece of my mind- I can't tolerate poor customer service like that!

spikej- nice run yesterday!!!! hope today's goes well too. weird about R getting scared at movie scenes, wonder if he jsut needs to know mama's there? i love having days off to get stuff done around the house during the week- so nice to feel that sense of accomplishment! R just started going thru the tunnel last week- we've been going to this park for over a year, and up until now, he'd run over to the tunnel, peek inside and yell into it!

Dexy- OMG- your run club sounds, um, interesting?! holy moly- the pics are highly innapropriate and the videos are just wrong. i'd probably find a new group too. tha't s a bummer though! i thought of you this weekend, we hvae a local relay around Seneca Lake, and as I was checking the results, one of the team names jumped out at me "Dexy's Midnight Runners!" weird?!

CA- nice job on the ST, have a great run later tonight! haha on M doing the cardtricks, she may have a future as a handler at The Palms. Glad that O is growing so well!!! Yay for a lot for your parents. I'd love to have mine closer (right now they're 3hrs away), but I definitely wouldn't want to live right next door. I wouldn't want the "oh I was in the area so i thought i'd drop by" thing happening...
