Honorary Old
RR2- probably going to jinx myself, but I have not had to wear my screw shoes yet this winter. It was in the 50's the last couple days ( crazy wind, but still!)
RG- Sorry on the poor sleep and R still being sick
zorbs- R doesn't understand pizza or sandwiches and picks them all apart before he eats them. I thought B liked bread? Is it the tomato sauce he doesn't like?
Ernie- I have friends that have a tradition of burning the xmas tree in their backyard on NYE every year.
Mer- DH thought he had a ganglion cyst for years, but then it kept growing and got really big and was causing nerve impingement. We went to a hand specialist and found out he had a tumor made of cartilage and had surgery about 3 years ago. It had gone down a couple times after it got bashed, so if it doesn't get better, it might be worth getting checked out.
CA- yay for O gaining weight! R was on the small side unti he hit 1 year then has had some major growth since then and went from the 10th%ile to the 50Th. I was looking at some FB pics of a friend's kid that is 3 mo older than R yesterday, and man that little girl is a chubster in comparison to R. R is 29 lbs, and I would bet that this little girl is at least 40-45. Any word from the recruiter? That is the same way I fell down and threw out my back on Xmas then ran my car in to DH's last year- ice with a small skiff of snow on top. OUch!
Becky- Yeah, my mileage has been <15 mpw for over a month, need to get some kind of plan happening.

becky - bummer on working saturday - my DH had to work saturday also. What's your next goal? Yeah I agree 10:30 is crazy, I'd need to be drugged to sleep that late.
zorbs - awesome on the pacer! Lori and I are hoping for sub 4 also, Mississauga sounds like a great course. Calgary is gentle up hill for the first half and then all downhill. I think it'll be an easier course than Seattle though which had rolling steep hills for the last 10 k.
spike - Awesoem on the ST'ing! I love how my body feels when I'm super disciplined in ST'ing. I'd probably just re-use whatever top looks the hottest. The recruiter never emailed, I emailed him again today, just casual saying, " I replied last week but haven't heard and wanted to make sure you got it.." now it's in his court and I'll just have to move on if he doesn't answer.

Sacrilege! If I could exist on a diet of melted cheese without looking like a blob of melted cheese, I totally would. BTW I'm going to check out those ST sites you told me about. Is it ok to just start with Squats and Deadlifts for leg day for the time being until I get stronger and more confident? I'm trying not to get too overwhelmed. Need to figure out what to do for upper body now.
I almost do no other exercises besides squats and deadlifts for lower body. Occasionally if I feel like torturing myself I'll do lunges.
Upper body I do some kind of shoulder press and some kind of chest. I'm always afraid of my shoulder giving out from the dumbbell incident of 2011 so I don't bench press unless I have a spotter and use the machine. And for back my bread and butter is 1 arm DB rows (only because lat pulldown, seated cable, etc) are far away from the squat rack so if I was supersetting the 2, it would be a PAIN to walk all the way across the gym - my gym is huge.
So do your calves get worked doing other things, or is that kind of pointless? I had a calf injury in 2012 and my calf/achilles on the left is still pretty tight and I'm nervous to reinjure myself. I'm realizing how inflexisible and tight I am, so I need to incorporate some stretching too.
I actually know how to do all those upper body exercises you mentioned, so that's a win for me I guess!
occasionally I'll do the lumberjack squat mentioned here and that is the only calf exercise I ever do.
Well I finally heard back from the recruiter. His response is a bit vague, so I'm not sure if there is a concrete job, or if he's just investigating for possible leads... Either way, I'm talking to him tomorrow, and at least it's another tool I can use to possibly find something better.
Becky - I'm terrible about getting anything accomplished without a plan. Hope DH's meeting with bosslady isn't too bad!
spike - Good job on the ST. It is always worth it to buy a stove the cook will love Didn't you buy a new top recently? Was that for a different event? We always burn our tree for our first fire of the spring! But we usually toss it out in the yard well before that.
zorbs - Ah, you probably couldn't tell in the dark, but we have an actual fenced-in back yard with the ravine behind that. If we started tossing everything off our deck, we'd not only be heathens, we'd have a horribly messy yard
CA - I need to run Calgary. That is my ideal course! Hope things pan out with the recruiter. Sometimes the job opportunity is real but the recruiter doesn't have much information from the employer at the first stage. Which is kind of annoying for everyone involved.

Ernie- I sent the top back because it didn't fit right. Sent it back before Xmas and still no confirmation of return >
Ernie - well maybe that would solve your Toronto vs Mississauga debate, come run Calgary - no way I'd be running it 'with' you, but I'd drink beer with you afterwards I hope you're right about the recruiter, I did get the feeling that that is why he hadn't emailed me back last week, is that he was waiting to meet with this client, so hopefully after he meets with him today/tomorrow, he'll have something concrete to tell me.
