Morning!  I've been busy and am far behind on reading. I did skim weekend, but have a plumber coming and need to clean the bathroom.

Cindy, we tend to use 20 but my understanding is Canadians usu do about 18 because 30k is a nice round number.  I'll second Higdon plans.

      I'm just posting because I need to start increasing my miles gradually and need the accountability.  I'm still doing about the short mostly 2m run/walks, same as when I was in PT. I think it's partly habit. So this week" M hip/core T r/w 4 W hip/core w 2 Th r/w 3  F h/c w2 Sat r/w 4 S w2.

Have a great day!  I'll try to catch up later this week.

        Good Morning!

Lisa - Glad you had a nice visit up north.  Sigh, yes we just can't stop Monday.

Camille - Good luck with your plan this week.

Marjorie - Whew, you really got alot done yesterday!

Gatsby - The trail half is the Pinckeny Half on the Potawami (?sp) trail.

Did a nice 14 yesterday am, beautiful weather, blue sky, full on sun, started in the 30's.  Then went to Yogalates last evening.  What a great stretch and very relaxing.

So, I had my mind all set 3 weeks ago NOT to do my Spring marathon....long story short....felt, wiped out, stressed out, and miserable.  But yesterday started toying with the idea of just doing it.  I am not really behind on training, as I have been running all along.  I might have missed a 15 miler or so.  It is still 8 weeks away.  Figure I have time to throw in a 20 or so.  Plus have the trail half, and I am doing a 25K the first of May....hmmm....to do or not to do.

So I was very good about not checking email or doing any work Friday through Sunday. And it helped me to regain my sanity. Now I have to deal with all the emails though. Apparently the world doesn't end when I take a day off! I've spent the last couple hours trying to get through everything and prioritize what I'm doing.....and I ended up here. Overloaded and need a quick break.

I am taking a full on rest day today. I am definitely feeling this weekend's runs today. And now I'm tapering! I'm also racing a duathlon on Saturday, which is definitely not a part of any marathon taper I've ever seen, but hey, I want to do it.

Camille, I'm watching you. I wanna see you posting some "4"s this week!

Carol, of course you can still do it. Maybe just keep running and sticking to the training as much as you can while you decide if it's what you want to do. On the one hand, we do this stuff for fun, so if it's stressing you out....well, I guess you have to decide if it's worth the stress. On the other hand, if you're doing the training, why not run it with no expectations other than to finish and have a good time? I'm probably not much help. I just started typing without thinking first.

          Morning Lisa!

Plumber can't come until Wed to fix the leaking pipe to washing machine. Not a big deal except I'll need to buy more underwear.  : )

Karen, you'll see the miles I think.  It's ridiculous how much better I do with goals if I've committed publicly, even it's just online.  BTW...did I see a FIRST OA for you?!! That's amazing! You rock!

Carol, what Karen said.  Do it for fun if you want without a big goal if that's the stressor.

Sugarland, I hope you feel better.

Hi Lisa and all who follow!

Now I'm off to work on the basement. I'm putting up shelving to hold the ever increasing amounts of paper work I have. I'm going to shred a few things too, before I head to my mom's for the night.

Vicki, this rain should be over tonight and the next several days are supposed to be beautiful. I hope he's able to get some good photos.

Camille, or you could just do like a man and either 1) turn a pair inside out and wear again, or 2) go commando!

Run to live; live to run

Rest day.  I so could run today. My legs don't feel bad. I feel very normal actually. The ART really helped. I have one more appointment. That will be the 5th. It should knock the rest out.

Waiting in the guy to come see the hot water heater so we get all the right things. It isn't broken but is getting old so we are being proactive and replacing. Most last around 13 years. This is 14. We would rather to not wait until it totally breaks. As a bonus we are having a full house after filter put in too. I'm excited. Surprisingly the filter wasn't that expensive.

all the painting and touch up is done. Even a few extra things like the trim around the front door. I still need to seal the garage floor but there is no rush to doing that. I do have the sealer. I need the right roller for it and it won't take much time. More time to move everything out of the way. If we get some good weather with no rain forecast I could knock it out pretty fast.

Camille hope nothing big with the plumbing (That it doesn't get bigger before he comes).

                  Carol  you can do it!

Karen isn't it funny how the email fairies don't take care of our work when we are gone?

                  feel better Vicki

Karen, congratulations on first female OA! Hope you got sparkly shiny stuff.

Lisa, if it is going to happen, it will.

Ginny, so glad it does not seem to be a stress fracture! Good luck with the running.

Cindy, you know you won't have anyone talking you out of it here. Do eeett....

...and for the first full I would personally advise a couple of 20s and one 22-23 miler, just for the time on your feet and to be sure you can do it. 20 is OK. What I don't like is the plan (Hanson?) which tops out at 16 and says the adrenaline will carry you through the last ten miles.

Bullpuckey. Your legs will carry you through the last ten miles.

It's psychological. You should be confident that you have done 22-23 in training, so you can do those last 3 or 4, no worries.

Camille, um, maybe wash underwear by hand or go to the laundromat...or yeah go buy another pack of undies.

Marjorie, congratulations on finishing the painting!

                    Carol, yay for outside running!

Gatsby, glad it rained for you, wish we had had more.

Vicki, sorry about the bronchitis. Feel better.

                    Judy, safe travels!

Managed 4 in the AM and 4 in the PM on Friday, 7 on Saturday, 5 on Sunday, mattress magnet won this morning, 6.41 at lunch. Knee is still twingy but feeling better.

Not a good Monday... got sick last night from something I ate -- probably the kale that I braised since DH didn't eat it and he's fine.   Spent all night and a good part of today in the bathroom feeling crappy.  So, unscheduled rest day today and probably tomorrow as well.

Lisa, how fun to hang out with 2 and 6 month old grandkids.

Camille, public accountability it a very good motivator.... hope that it works for you to get out there and run!  I would personally wash the undies in the sink if I was running out.  Unless you need an excuse to buy some new ones?

Carol, this is the wrong place to be talked out of a marathon, haha.  But I agree with what everyone else said -- do it if it doesn't cause you stress.  Your fitness certainly is there.

Karen, when I have a day off, I'm always torn about whether it's better to check email so it isn't all waiting for me when I get back, it tune out completely from work and bet the full benefit of the day off.  Not sure there's a right answer...

SugarLand, sorry to hear you've got bronchitis... rest up and get well soon.

Marjorie, glad the ART is working and the legs feel good.  Probably still a good idea to rest, though.

Tessa, our rain has moved on and we're back to temps in the 70s.  Ugh, not ready to give up on delusions of more rain yet...
