Why Wednesday (Over 40) (Read 19 times)

    The quintessential question... why???

Ginny-we are glad you're here and so are all of the people you come into contact with each day.  If anyone knows this in its most literal sense us sloggers do... We keep going because we aren't done and what's around the corner is likely to delight us! I'm thinking you could use some grandkids time or maybe find somewhere to volunteer at.

Forward Relentless Motion! and on that note... I slept in today. Eh.. it happens.

Flight canceled again. Freezing rain today. So rest day.

Why Wednesday.....hmmmm......that much closer to Friday ???

Lisa - Sleeping in is good!   Especially in below zero weather...booooo.  30's next week...yahoo!

Marjorie - Rest day is good too!  Hope the weather doesn't get as bad as they are forecasting.

Ended up getting on the DM last night....frustrating, crazy day at work, so that was my stress release.  Why do grown adults act like kids....I don't get it!  Meeting RB for 6 after work...will look forward to that all day

Hoping everyone in the path of the storm stays safe.

No run yesterday....4 TM miles this morning.

          Hi Marjorie and Lisa!!

          LC Runs

            Hey Carol - cross posted!!

            Docket_Rocket

Morning, ladies! Sorry I have been MIA but work has been busy and my running turned to shit.  I tried running on Monday and came back home crying because it sucks, it hurts, and I just cannot do it any longer.  So, I'm biking until surgery on Friday.  Hoping to be pain free by Friday afternoon.

My dad arrives tonight.  So excited!

Lisa, sleeping in is good sometimes.

              Ginny, what Lisa said!!!!!!

Marjorie, ugh.  Hope you stay warm and dry.

Carol, I have asked myself the same question all the time.  People that act like children.  Ugh.

              LC Runs, nice 4.

Why Wednesday?  I guess because yesterday was Tuesday!  That's all I got!

Thanks Lisa, I know all that, just have to remember at times like this

                .

On a bright note, I am going down to Columbus on Friday and staying with my good friend until Monday.  That will be fun and a change of pace!  I most likely will not get any running in though, they have a lot of snow too and I won't know the neighborhood, so I won't go out on my own, but that's okay.  I will make up for it mall hopping.

In the minus temps here again this morning, but supposed to go all the way up to the 20's!  A heat wave!

You know what I have been tossing around in my head?  Teaching aerobics or weights or something to senior citizens, since technically I am one!  Sure don't feel like I am though.  Not sure what all you have to go through to become an instructor, I need to find someone to talk with about this.  I have done some seaching online and looks like you have to take classes and be certified and all that.  Just thinking about it, could be something to do after I retire.  Going to call the senior center here locally, maybe they have some ideas..

Obsessively checking the weather forecast - predictions are currently anywhere from 3-5 inches of snow (which will be enough for a snow day tomorrow, go ahead and laugh, Michigan and Ohio ladies) to 12-18 inches, which will shut us down through the weekend and probably cancel my Sunday marathon. I have 4 easy miles on the schedule for tonight, which I will run outside even though it will be cold, because it will probably be the last dry pavement I see for awhile.

Marjorie, doesn't look like anyone's getting in or out of the southeast for awhile! Wonder if Myrtle Beach Marathon will be affected? It looks like Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham (which I was considering for awhile) will be okay.

Lisa, why Wednesday? Because at least it's not Monday....

Carol, yes, at least the TM is good for something. It's weird though, I get a bigger endorphin rush from cycling than I do from running, so that's been my go-to frustration killer lately.

Damaris, I hope your surgery goes well. How long will you have to take it easy after before you can start running again?

Ginny, that's a great idea! Do you have a local Y? I know of a couple people (online) that have recently started teaching classes there. The senior center sounds like a good idea - you can show them how awesome a senior citizen can be!

Why Wednesday? Well, we had to plug the hole between Tuesday and Thursday.

Ginny, instructing would be a great idea! You are in great shape yourself and do NOT look like a senior citizen.

Feeling somewhat better, and am concentrating on adding more food and lots of fluids. Most of my symptoms are probably from the dehydration.

Anonymous Guest, DS lives down in northern VA so he was getting ready for the storm. I hope it's not too bad. :::whispering::: At least it's not November.

Karen, he said 4 weeks of no running.  Boo.

                      Judy, morning!

Why NOT Wednesday? Something has to separate Tuesday and Thursday.

Busy does not even begin to cover it. Sorry for my absence. Hope everyone is well. Damaris, good luck on Friday!

Lisa, I went back and read what I'd missed. I think perhaps a Soaring Sausage Saturday in honour of your DD throwing the hot dog?

Ginny, I have this image of you in a furry hat...

Susan, congratulations! PR and sub 2! You rock!

Karen, excellent on being 2nd in AG, and Cindy, OA masters placing, that's great!

Marjorie, hope you are where you wanted to be, whether it's at work or home.

I'm presuming Cindy is snowed in by now. Likewise both the Amys. Carol, good luck on the 6 with RB. Laura, why no run yesterday? You always do 4!

I think Myrtle Beach is supposed to be OK, storm should be through by Sunday.

DH lost more weight. He is down to 118. And his arm has decreased further in circumference. It's about time for them to reassess him and we're hoping with the continued weight loss and muscle wastage they will recertify him for hospice care. He's also more forgetful and confused.

4 this morning and yesterday morning, headed to the gym now.

                          Hi ladies-

I got up and out early for 8.1 miles this morning - school was canceled but the snow didn't start until about 1:00, so I got up at 6:00 and ran. I made plans to meet up with my Saturday running buddy for part of it, so that eliminated the chance that I would bail when the alarm went off. It was cold, though - 26 degrees, which is not that bad, but raw and windy. I could have used another layer on my legs.

And now we're snowed in. It's been coming down steadily since it started - we got about 6-8 inches, and now it's sleeting. The snow is supposed to pick up again around 11:00 tonight, so we'll definitely be socked in. At least I work from home!

                          Marjorie - sorry you're stranded!

Lisa - I love the snow pics you posted.

Carol - I often wonder the same thing, whether it's people I deal with at work, at church, or at school.

                          Hi Laura.

Damaris - glad that relief is in sight, but bummer on the no running for 4 weeks!

Ginny - that sounds like a great idea! I know our Y has a whole slate of classes specifically for seniors.

Karen - I hope your marathon doesn't get canceled.

Judy - glad to hear you're feeling better.

Tessa - so sorry to hear that your DH continues to decline. I hope the next evaluation yields results.

Off to hang with the boys for a bit and then break out some dark chocolate and red wine. Poor DH has to be up at 5:30 to be on a weather call for work  (where they decide whether/when to open branches) but I have no intention of getting up that early! Stay safe and warm-

                          Cindy

Run to live; live to run

Ice is bad but we only lost power for about an hour. It is back on. Many will be without for a long time.

The he ice is in the trees. Especially west of here. Our power blips from time to time but has been okay.

The he vets office was open so we were able to get the pups an appointment for their well doggie visit that was due this month. the office is really busy but today they had a bunch of cancels so we took them in since it is 5 miles from here and no bridges. Roads weren't icy. I hope it stays like that here on the coast.

So glad I wasn't stranded at an airport. Pain yo have been cancelled but that happens.

Myrtle  should be okay. One people traveling in May not make it with the back log of flights and how bad ATL is

Karen hope the roads were still dry when you ran. All the rain we've had i can only imagine how much snow it would have been.

Tessa as oh my. More weight loss?  Hope they re certify him.

Ginny the personal trainer certification isn't hard. You should be able to do that. There is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist you could do. Personal trainer gives you more options, though.

Cindy hope oped you haven't lost power.
