Grew up in Virginia, attended Va Tech (GO HOKIES!), moved to LSU for grad school where I earned my PhD in Microbiology and Immunology, specializing in virology. I currently live in upstate New York.

Why do I run:
I enjoy the physical and mental challenge and like getting some alone time outside. |
Why I started running:
I've run on-and-off since high school. I did mostly 5Ks and never really enjoyed running.
Several years ago, my employer decided to sponsor a half marathon, so I decided to use that opportunity to challenge myself.
I finished my first half marathon in 2:07 in 2007
I finished my second half marathon in 1:53 in 2008
I am currently training for my third half marathon.
Someday I'll probably train for a full marathon if I ever find the time and motivation. |
