| Notes: | That felt better than my 18 miler 2 weeks ago...what a difference the long run only every-other week makes. Knee was iffy, but not terrible. Felt pretty strong, overall. Actually felt like I had more gas in the tank by the end, which is good, I guess...though I did also feel some twinges of cramping in my right calf, so I need to watch that. Probably need to try some Endurolyte caps for my next long run, in addition to the Gatorade and gels (wish I could find that Gatorade with 2x the electrolytes--closest I can find is the Tiger Woods stuff with 25% more).
So glad I don't have to do that again for another 2 weeks, though...almost 4 hours is a LONG time to be moving. I'm confident after almost 3 weeks of taper that I will survive my first marathon, though...definitely puts me at ease and makes the next few weeks seem less daunting. One more long run and I'm in taper. Phew. |
