Steeplechase 25K for Ian Progin. Absolutely perfect weather and I felt fine so no excuses here. Just didn't do as well as I hoped. I started ok and felt really good up to about mile 8 or 9 but then I started to fade. Surprisingly my HR was not that high but I was really hurting and had a few miles over 8 minute pace near the end. The hills were pretty tough too. Not sure where this leaves me with my training. I think I just didn't get a chance to build up enough a of a base, and with all of the slow running, I don't know if that really hurt me. I think it was more about running out of steam at the end, so I don't think it was a lack of speed, just a lack of stamina. I need to keep increasing and then I'll see where I'm at with some late fall 5Ks. Andy absolutely killed it though! 1:55:XX is awesome! Joe did great for his first 5K and Pete helped out with the pacing! I think dropping down from the 25K was no doubt a wise choice. Really proud of quadruple impact!
