First long run of the marathon training is in the books with this mornings 10 miler. I knew my body could do it, but mentally I just didn't know what to expect. I ran an out and back to keep from trying to cut it short.
My plan was to pace it between 9:30 and 10:00/miles (last year I ran my long runs all at 10:00 pace) This was my first long run for quite some time and maybe even back as far as my marathon. The first 5 miles were tough, but then it got fun coming back since I was in the groove then.
Pace ended up being under my low range so I now know I can do it and will probably shoot a little lower for pace then today.
Temps started at 74 & 93% humidity, ended with some sun a 76 & 85% humidity.
