This was an evaluation run. My aim was to work the HR up to 165 and then hold it there and see what happeend to pace. It was a warmish humid night and it took only until the 4th lap to hit 165. Then sat there for a while and saw pace gradually slip little by little. Now, if this, as Hadd says, is my maximum marathon HR, then I am a long, long way, and a lot of training miles, away from reaching it. I should be able to just go 1:28, 1:28, 1:28 ... all the way through without getting over 165. Well ,that is the aim.
