About me:
My wife Brenda and I live in Nottingham PA. I am a former Marine, I have two sons, both served in the Marine Corps during the Iraq war. Both are now former Marines, One is now full time at Penn State. The other is wokring for a nuclear power company. I also have a daughter and two grand children. Brenda and I have run several half marathons, 10ks, the Army 10 miler, 5ks etc... I have ran three marathons and one Sprint Tri. I also own several guitars, like art (oil, arcylics, water color painting, and flying RC aircraft.
Why do I run:
I can solve all the worlds problems when I'm out running. Trouble is I forget them all near the end of the run. No real reason other than I just enjoy it. I hate running in the cold. Guess I'm just getting older and don't like it at all. I guess it's not really running in the cold that I hate, but rather winter is what I hate! .
Why I started running:
I restarted running in 2000 when the kids were finally old enough to care for themselves at home. My orginal goal was to get back in shape enough to complete a Marine Corps Physical fitness test (3 mile run, 2 minutes of situps and pullups). Next thing you know I"m hooked!!! Work was crazy during the war years, but finally slowing down enough to allow me time to run at lunch time again. Now 9 hour days, 5 days a week instead of 14 hour days six days a week.
