My right lower leg hurt so badly on this run that I almost turned around and headed back home after about a quarter mile into it. I, perhaps like a fool, continued on in my scheduled 8 mile run. It was to have been done 2 days ago, but since I ran my 21 mile long run the day before, I rested, and then did my scheduled 5 miles yesterday. Yesterday's run gave me an indication that today might be quite painful, which turned out to be true.

Starting out the pain was again around an 8 - 9/10 and I couldn't run without hobbling, but subsided around mile 4 - 5 to about a 5 - 6/10 which was tolerable. Ohter more minor issues came up, like some right ankle and top of foot pain, and knee pain, probably all of which were due to me not running a "normal" gait or stride. I still think I will be able to get through the race, though the early and late part of it may be quite brutal on me from pain aspect. The middle part of the race should be ok.

Oh, it was rowing during my run - raining and snowing. That didn't bother me and may have helped to numb me! Heh. Here's the splits:

4: 10:01 (did some clothing removal and putting back on)

Still pretty consistent splits, with the exception of the wardrobe malfunction mile, for a gimp. :)
