About me: Married with four adult children.
Midlife crisis has contributed to a series of changes: Lost weight. Played soccer in a summer recreational league. Learned to play tsimbl (hammered dulcimer). Changed to a mostly vegan diet. Lost more weight. In August 2008 I started learning to run and build my first aerobic base. Got into weight lifting to rehab from sarcopenia. Not so vegan anymore as I scrounge for better protein sources. |
Why do I run: To manage my weight and enjoy better health. Trying to outrun my risk factors for diabetes. |
Why I started running: I discovered that I could run for 30 minutes by using a heart rate monitor to manage my exertion. And I learned a different running form that keeps my knees pain free. |
