About me:
Family man, two kids born in late 1997 and early 2000, a girl and a younger boy. Balancing company family with work (Nexus Alpha, and Nexus Alpha Low Power Systems) and running.
Why do I run:
A combination of reasons. I like my music, and pounding along listening to In Rainbows is pretty good. I'm relatively competative (mainly self-competative), so I enjoy trying to improve. As of right now I'm 43, and still (I think!) getting faster. I'm Age Graded about 75%, and want to make 80% - which would imply (perhaps) "county standard". So whilst I'll not win, I can at least "turn up for the race". As of right now, I want to see what I can achieve. I've never "pushed" this running as far as I'm now trying, so I'm keen to see what happens. That, of course, as a balance to all the other important things in life...
Why I started running:
I think I remember being told at school that I was pretty good at cross country, but I never competed, never did anything. I started running in my early 20s, then lost my way again. Got back on track in my early 30s, and then eased off. Finally, I started again in earnest when I was around 37 or 38. By this point the age graded tables have cut in, but what the hell!
