| Notes: | Unofficial (Garmin) time pending posting of official time and placements. Hopefully the sub-45 holds up! EDITED: Yes! The 44:59 held up in the official results. Woot for me. 10th in age-group, top 10% overall, and just outside the top 100.
The race went pretty well. I seemed to lock into my target pace (7:15/m) pretty well, albeit with some effort and concentration. Mile 3 came in slow, although I think the marker may have been off some. I'm a little disappointed in some of the later splits because I tried to turn the dial up a notch a couple times; unfortunately, it just didn't seem to result in any real speed gains. Still, I stayed pretty consistent with my splits and held pace through miles 5 & 6, dropping quite a few folks in this stretch. Final kick was good, but probably should have pegged the needle a little earlier.
On an equivalency basis, last week's SF10 would predict a 45:48 ... so all things considered, and having done no VO2 work at all, I really can't be upset to be in this condition 18 weeks out from the marathon. |
