What a fucking disaster. Even though I was right where I wanted to be at mile one, I knew it was gonna suck. I was done before the hill and the hill just finished me off. I've never done more visualization in prep for race in my life; maybe next time I should do some actual running instead.

Heartrate was actually a little low for a 10k (avg 179, which is still in the tempo zone for god's sake), and I wasn't breathing that hard. But My legs were completely flat -- no juice. Maybe it was due to missed runs 3 out of the last 5 days.

But, I'm glad to get my first Cotton Row out of the way. This was really a regression compared to my 5k in March, and I think I have a much faster 10k in me (last weeked when it was cold, for example). But I need to do more tempo training, lots more miles, and toughen up my legs and gut, because my lungs and heart are not the problem.

42:59.17 by my watch, but offically they had me at 43:00. Ugh, I thought 42:xx would have been a mess, so I don't know what to call this.

Back to the drawing board. Shut up and run, you slug.
