Notes:Alright...quick team update...after leg 5...Karl got the baton in 7th place, about 90 seconds back from 4th, 5th, and 6th place. When he handed off 3.3 miles later, he had just passed everyone for 3rd place. Yeah. 3rd. He ran 16:36 for 3.3 miles, including a 4:43 downhill mile 3. That's stupid fast. Good for us though.

Anyway...by the time the baton gets back to me, we're kind of right back where I was last time. I think we were in 7th (6th in open division, cuz the Old Guys were back in front of us). Again, I was probably 90 seconds behind the masters guy, and just set my sights on him.

Oh...and it started raining at this point. Which was really annoying for 5 minutes after I dropped my warmup pants and longsleeve top, and was down to my singlet and split shorts. Good thing I was wearing Zensah socks...otherwise my calves woulda been cold. But...once I got the baton and was back running, the rain was nice. It was a nice, light drizzle.

Felt really good, clicked of 5:32 and 5:32, and was pretty happy...I was slowly bringing in Tim Lang (of the FF Masters team), and thought I'd have a shot at him. He really came back to me on the big hill at the end of mile 3...but, I only got within about 10 seconds of him.

Apparently, right at mile 2, there was a huge vulture, according to Tim Lang. I didn't see it, but...Tim took it as a bad omen. Haha...sucks for him.

Interval1 Mi5:3211:045:32  Umm...still rolling. Apparently, training is overrated.
Interval1 Mi5:4016:445:40  Minor hill slowed me down. Rain no longer refreshing...its now annoying. That's my excuse anyway...
Interval0.25 Mi1:2018:045:20  Nice finish, trying to catch the Masters team...didn't quite get him, but came pretty darn close.
