    You know one idea is to just ditch the HRM, if you find you're spending too much time and energy fretting over it.  Lots of people have never trained or raced with a HRM and seem to do okay.

      very good point now that I was pointed in the direction of mcmilans running calculator.  I wasn't worried so much about incorporating it into my training.  I was worried about how high it was itself but after further research, talking to people and testing my heart rate to near max today I came to the conclusion my max HR isn't 188 that the calculator suggested but more in the neighborhood of 200-possibly 210
