Need a new running watch with brighter display (Read 65 times)

I think it's time to retire my Garmin 610 due to charging issues and band problems. I picked up a FR230 yesterday, but was surprised to see how dim the display is even with the backlight on. My old eyes can't see all that well, and so need a bright display, like the 610 had. Are all the new watches using dimmer displays to save battery? Any with the old style, battery-draining technology? I don't mind charging every night.
