Auto populate workouts using training plan data (Read 892 times)

eric :)

    Hi everyone,

I made some enhancements to the training plan.  If you have a training plan, when you enter a new workout (both manually or imported from GPS), the workouts will use the scheduled workout's type.  For example, if you scheduled a tempo run today, when you enter the workout, it will be defaulted to "Tempo".

This enhancement applies to the "Save All" button on the import page as well, although it comes with caveats.  Since "Save All" is a bulk save operation, it makes a best effort in determining the workout types.  If you have one scheduled workout for the day, and you did only one run, then the matching is trivial.  If you have multiple scheduled and/or actual workouts on the same day, then the matching is based on distance and/or duration of your planned and actual workouts.

In some situations, the matching may not be deterministic, such as if you scheduled to run for 1 hour, and logged the run as 7 miles and do not specify a duration.  The point is, the more information you provide in the plan and the workout, the more accurate the matching will be.  Enjoy!

        Hi Eric-

I see the value of matching the workout to the schedule, but I always change it back to "Not a Scheduled Workout" so I can see on the calendar what I PLANNED to do versus what I ACTUALLY ran.  Am I missing a feature that would do this automatically or is this something that could be added in the future?

        Thanks!

        Matt

          Thanks, eric!
