Forums >Off the Beaten Path>What Restaurant Chain Makes the Best Burger
I had a friend that loves Culvers, so on the way back from an ultra we stopped to eat there ... The whole place was nothing special. The only reason I have been there in the past is for frozen custard ... not that impressive either. We have one 3 miles from our house, we have not been there in at least 3 years.
Yeah, I was gonna ask about that. I like Culvers. I will bike three miles for one. I don't think they have a veggie burger.
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
Culvers' sign says "Frozen Custard Burgers". I went in to order one and they said they don't have them. Go figure.
Reminds me of that store on Route 16 in New Hampshire on the way to North Conway. If you go in and ask for some Cheese Wood Firearms, just like they advertise, they look at you like you have nine heads.
Runners run
not bad for mile 25
Cheesewood is now a protected species. Due to the huge and growing demand for cheese, we can't afford to be harvesting cheesewood trees. It does make a beautiful rifle stock, though.
Hmmm - Deep fried frozen custard ... Interesting.
Presumably you're aware that deep fried Mars Bars are the de facto national dish of Scotland?

I love Culver's burgers and malts. I was so happy when a Culver's opened 3 miles from my house, since I used to only have access when I drove north through Bowling Green, KY. Best burgers here (pricey) are at BurgerUp- all locally sourced meat and produce.

Some folks out there do make great veggie burgers...
Licks in the greater Toronto area makes a pretty good veggie burger. They have won awards for their beef burgers, too.

Funny, Wisconsin never seems to exactly have Fireworks Porn.

And in case you're wondering, the Fish Ice Cream in Mt. Pleasant SC is also a lie.
Five Guys and Smashburger make good burgers by me, for a fast food plus kind of restaurant. There's a chain of Irish pubs up here called Shannon Rose that makes some really good burgers too... probably some of the best from a chain restaurant. Unless you take into account burgers from places like Ruths Chris, Morton's, or Capital Grille.
We may have raced together at some point.

Anyone who thinks that veggie burgers are boring should try the veggie burger at Houston's. Mind-blowingly delicious (and while it's pricey, it's well worth it).
an amazing likeness
You Wisconsin folks will be pleased to know there is a Carhartt section in the bride's dept.
Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.
Quite possible, are you in NJ?
