Yeah I’m sure at this point Coors Light is racist. It’s helped me through some marathon training though so i support its use in ultra marathons.

Pretty sure it was a beer joke about putting coors light in the same category as tasty local beers, but that's cool.

      Signed,

Someone who cans and sells tasty local beers

As this is the marathon training thread, I shall peace out now. I don't know anything about marathons.

Me - slightly lighter week due to Saturday's 10,000m race, and significantly easier given the lack of hills now I'm running from the office again a bit more!  I achieved what I needed to from the race, which was mostly just to blow out some rust after 3 months without a race effort, and remind myself of my relative strengths and weaknesses in a race situation.  It was really more of a group TT than a race but I found a rhythm and stuck to it - it was me and a young guy out front and he smoked me with 3 laps to go.  I could've pushed a bit harder at the end but didn't want to overdo it and there was no way I was catching him anyway haha.

This was my 19th straight week at 50 miles or more (I've never hit more than 9 before) so hopefully all the work is gonna pay off come September.

Also, the optical HRM on my Garmin Fenix 5S seems to have died overnight.  Luckily I've still got my old trusty FR235 so hopefully the battery on that still holds up OK after 2.5 years in the drawer.  The Fenix apparently has to get sent to Australia for repair or replacement (and of course it's out of warranty too).

Budweiser is fancy imported beer in Australia, even costs extra (same with corona).  Somebody has to be drinking it over there, they sure as hell aren’t drinking fosters.

That's easy. The same why Costco has Pepsi for many years and don't have Coke - deal incentives. You go to any game at a stadium, any concert and they have limited choice of beer and each of them is very cheap - $15/bottle. And right there they also have Bud/Bud light for $13/bottle - many try to save some money  Actually sometimes all they have at the stadiums is Budweiser - at least in the States...

I havent checked out the Boston website yet and wondering if my 2:50 time from 2019 is eligible for 2021 and the 2:59 runs from Cal, Brewer, Andres might not be good enough?

The BAA site now clearly says
"For the 2021 Boston Marathon, qualifying times must be run on or after Saturday, September 15, 2018.
The qualifying times below are based upon each athlete's age on the date of the 2021 Boston Marathon (April 19, 2021)."

Based on the press release, there were questions on whether year-earlier date applied only if for those accepted for 2020 (that would have been a nightmare to verify). The question seems to have been resolved.

So your 2:50 from 2019 is a dead cert for 2021 first day registration, as are Cinnamon's Vancouver '19, and Cals' CIM 2:59.
Andres' Houston 2020 2:59 is -10 for him, should be ok. Brew's 2:59:10 is -5:50... maybe.

This isn’t even funny. I’m honestly expecting to get in while also expecting they either increase the number of runners allowed into the race, or it’s another BQ-4:30+ year where lots of people who were IN for 2020 don’t make it and are upset.

I just saw the adidas jacket has the year on it. Bummer for those who purchased it expecting to run. Bummer for ME since I like it so the 2021 jacket will probably be ugly. I was HOPING I would be running the 125th and that won’t happen so Boston 2021 will probably be uneventful.

Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.

Nah... You still will see me first - JMac will probably not even going to run 2021 or just a thought he has a baby will make him soft and undertrained. It will take him another baby or two or a few years otherwise to understand that babies and running are separate things and complement, not exclude each other
