This makes running almost anything seem like a walk in the park. Of course that might also be because I now despise swimming.

I wish my mom could get inspired by Diana and other women of their generation doing amazing things. My mom is only 5-6 years older than Nyad, but she wrote herself off decades ago. And now she is suffering the health effects of a sedentary life and feels like she's too old to start anything. She won't even go for walks.
Getting the wind knocked out of you is the only way to
remind your lungs how much they like the taste of air.

Despise might be a bit strong. I was on the swim team in college, but tried to get back at it a few years ago and just could never seem to get my rhythm back. Then entered a tri and really hated getting kicked around. Running has just clicked for me.
Give it a chance, several people told me it takes months to develop decent enough swimming form to enjoy it.
Still going strong today after a stormy night.

It is Nyad's third attempt to complete the swim in less than a year. For the record to count, she is not allowed to touch or be touched by any of the support crews or vessels. She is also not allowed to sleep while trying to make the swim.
Ok, sleeping while swimming? I say if she can survive it let her try.

Wasn't this supposed to take ~60 hours? She is already 54 hours in, and less than halfway there.
