Getting the wind knocked out of you is the only way to

remind your lungs how much they like the taste of air.

I just wanted to add that although I dont have acne problems I have been using the Olay Total Effects Rx moisturizer that Kirsten mentioned in the linked thread and I am very happy with it. I have problems with moisturizer clogging my pores and this is one of the few I've found that doesn't. It also has light-feeling coverage and a small amount can take care of your whole face.

Well it sounds like I'll be heading to the store to buy some new products! I have never used any of the Olay products so maybe that will be my pot of gold. I would love to not have to deal with bad skin anymore. My oldest son went to the doctor yesterday about acne and was told to avoid peanut butter! And caffeine (which I already knew), but I had never heard of peanut butter being an issue. Learn something new every day. My son now has a prescription facial cream to use twice a day. But now that the peanut butter theory has been introduced, I have to think back to last week when I made peanut butter cookies! And of course....ate more than my share of them. That just was adding to my misery all along. Live and learn.

PB and caffeine...? *lip quivers* *eyes get misty* Sad

*lol* That is how I felt about the caffeine!! I "treat" myself to a cup of Wa-Wa coffee at least 3 times a week...although this week I have FORCED myself not to even go into a Wa-Wa. It hurts.

Hmmm...but now that I think about it, I was having acne issues long before I developed my coffee or diet cola habit. And I've always eaten PB, but not always had acne. So maybe I can rule those things out...? k

I eat PB every day with my apple, I also drink coffee every morning. No acne here Smile

Maybe it's stress! I think a vacation would help resolve all of this. Smile Sitting on a quiet sunny beach sipping a long island iced tea would probably do wonders for me. I'll take a week off from work....I'd have to leave the kids and maybe even my husband at home to really benefit from the peace and quiet. *sigh* No chance of a vacation until summer so I need to stop dreaming. Seriously though, I might start from scratch and for awhile be very careful of what I eat and drink and be sure to eliminate certain things that I think are triggers for my issues. Slowly I'll reintroduce them one at a time and see what happens. Things like coffee (this will hurt the most), and chocolate (which I only crave every now and then anyhow), caffeine in general, and another biggie - sugar. Meanwhile I will be buying some olay stuff. I'll have to get past the lack of caffeine headaches - I'm not one for taking medicine but I may end up taking an Advil here and there. Knowing my luck that probably makes me break out!

Michelle, take this for what it's worth (not everyone believes this) but take a look at this link. http://www.positivehealth.com/permit/Articles/Chinese%20Medicine/brite49.htm One of the core beliefs in Chinese medicine is that the part contains the whole. The idea of the face as a map can be applied in many ways, not just as in indicator of past and future health, or times of life, but also as a way to diagnose organs and body parts. This is based on pathways of the deep and superficial meridians and on the three divisions from top to bottom. I have noticed that when my diet is *cleaner* (i.e. less processed foods, less High Fructose Corn Syrup -- this stuff wreaks havoc on our bodies) that my face is cleaner. Depending on where your acne is on your face, the map in that link may provide some insight.

Cynthia, that is really cool. I've never seen such a thing. After looking at that I can associate my breakout patterns with my diet and such. It makes sense to me. Thank you. I'll have to share this with my brother, he has always had major issues with his skin (runs in the family). I only have a fraction of what he has to deal with. My mom has had it really really bad, her face is covered with scars. Kirsten --- I'll confess, the quiet beach days would have to be topped off by some not so quiet - fun nights. There would have to be lots of music and dancing and laughing!
