Kids can be horrible these days. I'm sorry to hear you had such a rotten experience. I think you handled it well considering that you didn't know for sure who the kids were. I asked my 13 y/o what would be a way to deter that behavior and he said that he wouldn't be able to keep up with me so a challenge to have him try to keep up would have worked. I've had young kids ride their bike along the sidewalk as I ran, but it was more for fun. I just smile and wave when we get to the end of their block.
