Anyone got any secrets on finding 1 mile races? I've been using Running in the USA and Run Sign Up for searching. There are tons of results when I search, but the large majority of the results are family-fun run/walks or kid oriented.
These guys have a good list:

LOL I did a search for races near me and the first one that popped up was the US Olympic trials. Be right there! The second one listed is the Brooks PR Invitational. Also I think not for me.

not bad for mile 25
How far are you willing to travel to run a mile?

You might check out the Baltimore Road Runners Club, www.brrc.com They have events on 6/16 and 6/23 that may be a fit.
I'm a member. Thosr are very tentative. Usually those are held at a local college and it's grounds are still closed to the public.
I forgot you were in that area. Check out the Potomac Valley Track Club

Guess with the latest loosening of restrictions in MD, more running clubs got summer raes approved. I found a series of track meets that have the mile on Tuesdays. Will seriously consider at least 1 or 2 since I could combine it with a visit to my parents. That makes it look less crazy to drive 90 minutes to run for a few.
Annapolis Striders also offers one mile track races though I think this year is still tentative due to current restrictions.

Yep. Not sure if using school properrty, either public schools or private adds an extra layer of approvals. I've done a 1 mile race in the city before, events are not being approved there and some long time ones have moved to the county for at the very least this year.
In an interesting note, this morning the LRS announced that a 5k typically held in the city is moving to Goucher College for this year. That's where the BRRC events were typically held, so maybe those will happen.
PS- I always thought once could post on CL etc....local running store, an open calling for a track 1 mile race....unofficial.....
say 9am local track, 1 mile, 1500m..... etc... and maybe could get a good little crowd.
Is senior Olympics still around?
they have mile races

Yes, they exist. From what I can see, they have the 1500. And I'm too young.
