What's left to invent in the running world? (Read 248 times)

App showing closest available restroom / portapotty, or successfully confirmed hidden from public view emergency spot. Public restroom would be one symbol, then a portapotty symbol, then a "bush" symbol. Would be like waze where public can inform of spots (since portopottys are always changing). Call it Code Brown. Maybe it could link to your Fitbit and based on some bio markers and your average pace, calculate your chances of not making it.

Plenty of people would pay top dollar for this.

I'd also like to see a dumpster symbol too. They often provide good cover in the city.

This could be crowdsourced and users could log their spots while doing business. It would need to have a privacy scale because some spots are better at night or when there are leaves on the trees.

Some spots are acceptable enough in a race but would never be considered on a regular run.

Porta johns at construction sites would have expiration dates and need to be renewed periodically.

You could also add water fountains.

Who does that in a water fountain?!

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Dude. Aren't you from WI? Don't you call it a bubbler?

I pity the person who next has to empty the trash if you do a number two behind a dumpster

But in all seriousness, this would actually be a good idea, especially when you're running in an unfamiliar city.

Runner's World magazine posed this question too, and one reader's response was - a drone to carry food and water for long runs - which would be great!
