Marathon day breakfast.....what and when? (Read 141 times)

I race on an empty stomach.  After all, I'm about to feast on the carcasses of my foes*.

    Funny

    I'm not racing you, ever.

Say carcasses over and over, and it becomes even funnier as you perceive the word differently.

Just curious what you eat for breakfast prior to a marathon - and how many hours prior to the start.

Be sure to finish your breakfast at least 90 minutes before the marathon start. Don't have a huge breakfast and stick with mostly carbs and some protein. Some examples of good pre-marathon breakfast foods include: a bagel with peanut butter; a banana and an energy bar; or a bowl of cold cereal with a cup of milk.

Experts say 3-5 minute breakfast is sufficient.

Possibly shorter for shorter distances, such as the mile, or 5000.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
