Sugar (Read 840 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

    And WTF is a snip?

Single-nucleotide polymorphism.  http://www.thefreedictionary.com/single+nucleotide+polymorphism.  Yes, it looks like SNP, but it's pronounced "snip".

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

I can relate to wanting to give up sugar but it's hard!

Does anybody take Whey protein after a run?

I make my own sport drink for my long run. I follow this recipe (http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/beverages/a/sportsdrink.htm). I add some Tropicana pure orange juice in. It claims 18 oranges in a 1.75L carton, but I doubt the fact.

After a workout, I drink Whey protein and a banana. For carbohydrate, I prefer natural food, like rice or potato. I eat whole grain bread and pasta as well. They tastes sweet when you chew a little longer. All turn to sugar in your mouth (saliva + starch). So it is home-made sugar. Smile

After a long run I have a scoop of Bluebonnet Whey Protein Isolate mixed in with water (chocolate flavor).   I also have a banana.

During the long run I drink a mixture of Polycose (1 cup) and water in my 700 ml handheld.

Sometimes when I am training at a high weekly volume or super long hard workouts - Not all whey protein is created equal - Both from a contents, purity and absorption / cross cellular flow.

But usually I just eat some turkey, tuna or have a couple of eggs ...

Me too.  With a chocolate chip cookie or a pecan danish.  Sigh . . .

I try and stay away from whey since it's dairy product, but Sun Warrior is really good. They'll even send you free samples. Just go to their website contact page and request.

I love almost anything from a dairy farm - Cows, pigs, chickens, milk, cheese, butter, eggs ...oh and that fresh dairy-air too.  Protein and Fat at its finest
